Pepperoni Crumbs > Bacon Bits

Pepperoni gets the most guff of the cured meat family—always the Lunchables, never the crowning glory of the charcuterie plate. But these compact rounds of salumi have so much more to offer for the savvy home cook. They’re peppery, salty, and full of fat that can be rendered to turn them into crisp miniature UFOs. “It’s a quintessential Italian American ingredient—pepperoni is one of those things that people in the United States always associate with Italian food, but it’s rarely seen in Italy,” says Angie Rito, the co-owner of Manhattan’s Don Angie and the coauthor, with Scott Tacinelli and Jamie Feldmar, of Italian American. “The flavor profile of pepperoni is spicy and garlicky with a hint of smoke, and the ingredient has a familiar and nosta...

Daniel Craig Says James Bond Shouldnt Be Played By A Woman – HuffPost

Actor Daniel Craig, who plays James Bond for the final time in the forthcoming “No Time To Die,” said he doesn’t think a woman should play the fictional British superspy in future installments. In a new interview with Radio Times magazine, Craig was asked if he would support “a more diverse appointment as his replacement” — like, a woman or a person of color. Craig replied: “The answer to that is very simple. There should simply be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, for a woman?” That view echoes comments made by Bond franchise executive producer Barbara Broccoli in 2018. “Bond is male. He’s a male character. He was written as a male and I think he’ll probably stay as a male,” Bro...

As in the source material, the film will follow the couple’s murderous ploys for power over Scotland and their resulting descent into madness.  The ominous trailer shows disjointed clips of large black birds circling the sky, Macbeth trudging through the desert, a hand lifting a crown from the ground and Lady Macbeth fearfully looking over her shoulder. The only dialogue is a witch’s voice, speaking one of the most iconic lines from the pla...

The Pill Is Killing Women. Why Wont The FDA Talk About It? – The Federalist

If you’ve watched TV in the last week, you’ve likely seen a commercial for a novel form of birth control called Phexxi. You could hardly miss it, starting as it does with “Welcome to my vagina,” and starring actress Annie Murphy from the wildly popular Emmy award-winning Canadian sitcom “Schitt’s Creek.” As the bubbly Murphy struts about in a cavernous pink bedroom, she promises that Phexxi is something that women have always wanted: an effective, “in the moment,” hormone-free method of birth control. Phexxi was approved by the FDA over a year ago, but only in the past week has its manufacturer, Evofem, begun marketing the product in earnest. With this shiny new campaign, Evofem is betting on the recently heightened search among women for non-hormonal birth control options. Deadly R...
