WWE SmackDown recap & reactions (Sept. 24, 2021): Extreme example – Cageside Seats

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated from Philadelphia. Get a complete look at the show with the live blog right here. One thing I really like about Roman Reigns, and The Bloodline, and the way stories are written on Friday Night SmackDown more generally, is that they tend to service many masters all at once. So while Brock Lesnar is waiting in the wings for Reigns, no matter what happens with Finn Balor at Extreme Rules, they can also work an entire bit around Montez Ford being at this week’s show without Angelo Dawkins and turning that into one hell of a main event match. Ford disrespected The Bloodline, and Reigns decided to put the boots to him in response. What came of it was actually one hell of an opportunity for Ford to showcase his skills against the...

Ferret tests positive for coronavirus in Florida | TheHill – The Hill

A ferret in Florida tested positive for coronavirus, making it the first confirmed with COVID-19 in the United States.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) said in a statement that samples were taken after the animal showed clinical signs of COVID-19, including coughing and sneezing.  The ferret is suspected to have contracted the virus from a person who had COVID-19. The samples returned a presumptive positive test at the Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in Florida, which was confirmed by NVSL. Coronavirus infections have been reported in a “small number of animal species worldwide,” the statement said. Most of the animals had close contact with a person who had COVID-19. According to data from the Department of...

Dont they know theres pandemic? Meghan and Harry hug hoards of kids during visit to Harlem school – Daily Mail

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seemed to forget that they were in the middle of a pandemic during a visit to a Harlem middle school on Friday where they were seen hugging children - many of whom who were unlikely to be vaccinated.   The Sussexes arrived at Harlem's PS 123 Mahalia Jackson school where Meghan read to a group of students before they were photographed hugging dozens of young school children. The school teaches children from grade 3 through to grade 8, putting students between the ages of 8 and 13. However, the group the royal couple met with appeared to be young than 12.  The children and the couple were all seen wearing face masks, which have been mandatory in schools across the state since New York Governor Kathy Hochul reimplemented the mask mandate after she took office l...

Doctors warn theyre seeing more COVID hospitalizations, deaths among unvaccinated younger people – Hawaii News Now

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - At Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, caregivers are seeing COVID patients hospitalized who are younger and generally in good health. Many have never been admitted to the hospital for anything else. And they’re showing up at the ER because they can’t breathe. “If you’ve ever felt air hunger, you’re scared. It usually happens rapidly and takes them by surprise,” said Adventist Health Castle Palliative Care Coordinator Sheri Richards. While Hawaii’s COVID infection rate has dropped more than 30% over the past three weeks, the state continues to report new deaths almost every day ― including in younger people. On Friday, health officials said nine more lives in Hawaii had been lost to COVID. Two of those people were in their 20s. Another woman was in her 30s. And ...

Coronavirus in Oregon: 2,113 new cases, 21 deaths, review group recommends booster for 65+ adults – OregonLive

The Oregon Health Authority on Friday announced 21 COVID-19 deaths and 2,113 new cases. The state’s report came after the Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup completed a review of the federal process and recommended a booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at least six months after their primary vaccination series for people older than 65 and people who fall into the high-risk populations. The state said booster shots for older Oregonians and those with underlying medical conditions, such as diabetes or chronic lung conditions, should be available as early as Friday night. “Everyone eligible who wants a booster will get one, and I’m committed to ensuring our most vulnerable Oregonians are protected from COVID-19, including those who are at higher risk due to system...

See Blake Sheltons Text to Ariana Grande After Report Claimed She’s Kicking Him Off The Voice – E! NEWS

Blake Shelton is not too happy that The Voice producers might soon tell him "thank u, next."  Unverified rumors spread this week that the NBC singing competition is looking to permanently replace Shelton with someone younger, due to the popularity of this season's newbie, Ariana Grande. But the longtime coach isn't going out without a fight and actually picked one with Grande after the reports surfaced. According to a photo dump that Grande posted on Instagram on Sept. 24, Shelton gave her his unfiltered reaction to the potentially demoralizing news. Her text screenshot showed Shelton sharing a link to one article, which claimed, "Producers at 'The Voice' May Replace Blake Shelton After Ariana Grande Brings a 'Fresh' Energy." The country singer texted her, "Thanks a lot Ari... Thank...

Paramount Staffers Reeling Due to Ongoing Studio Shakeup: The Lack of Communication Is Shocking – Variety

A “game of chicken” is commonly known as a conflict between two parties where neither wants to yield, but both are hoping to avoid embarrassment and failure. That seems to be the pervading psychological dynamic right now at Paramount Pictures, as it continues to topple its legacy leadership structure in favor of a streaming-first future under new studio chief Brian Robbins. “We’re all playing chicken right now,” one insider told Variety, explaining that studio employees are carrying out the work of making movies with no substantive input from Robbins – the former Nickelodeon head who replaced industry statesman Jim Gianopulos as Paramount chairman and CEO earlier this month. On Friday, Emma Watts, the stalwart production head who was labelled Paramount’s “white knight” ...

The Surveillance Apparatus That Surrounded Britney Spears – The New York Times

Britney Spears’s father and the security firm he hired to protect her ran an intense surveillance apparatus that monitored her communications and secretly captured audio recordings from her bedroom, including her interactions and conversations with her boyfriend and children, according to a former employee of the security firm. Alex Vlasov, the employee, supported his claims with emails, text messages and audio recordings he was privy to in his nine years as an executive assistant and operations and cybersecurity manager for Black Box, the security firm. He came forward for a new documentary by The New York Times, “Controlling Britney Spears,” which was released on Friday. Recording conversations in a private place and mirroring text messages without the consent of both parties can be a ...
