Cases of rare MIS-C condition for kids have tripled in California since February – KCRA Sacramento

With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases among children, doctors are expecting a surge in rare MIS-C, or multisystem inflammatory syndrome, infections. California cases have tripled since February, and are now at more than 600, according to the California Department of Public Health's running tally.MIS-C is a rare inflammatory condition associated with COVID-19 that can damage multiple organ systems.“We see MIS-C when children recover from acute infection with COVID. Usually, they have COVID, then two to four weeks later, as the immune response matures, they have an over-exuberant immune response and that results in the symptoms we see with MIS-C,” said UC Davis Health’s Dr. Dean Blumberg. “Only a small portion of the children who get COVID and recover get MIS-C. Sometimes they are...

Britney Spears Was Under Surveillance With Phone Bugged by Conservators, According to Documentary – Variety

When “Framing Britney Spears” was released earlier this year, the pop star’s world was much different. Before the New York Times-produced documentary launched on FX and Hulu this past February, Britney Spears had not yet testified publicly in court. Her father, Jamie Spears, appeared to have complete confidence in his role as conservator of her estate, and the singer was not represented by her own lawyer. Fast forward a few months, and Spears broke open the floodgates of her truth on June 23, when she addressed the judge to bring validity to what the #FreeBritney movement had been saying for years: she was being held against her will in a conservatorship that she called “abusive.” Following that June hearing, Judge Brenda Penny granted Spears the ability to hire her own lawy...

Video: Pat McAfee Pays Tribute To ECW Original Before WWE SmackDown – Wrestling Inc.

WWE SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee made several references to ECW on this week’s SmackDown at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Following Roman Reigns’ victory over Montez Ford in the main event, Heyman grabbed the microphone and advised the WWE Universal Champion to take it to the extreme. “That was not enough for his sins; no, no, no,” Heyman said. “My Tribal Chief, I counsel you to show Montez Ford, Finn Balor and even Brock Lesnar what happens when Roman Reigns takes it to the extreme.” Heyman’s promo led to McAfee saying, “Paul Heyman called for Extreme in Philadelphia. This can’t be good news.” Furthermore, McAfee paid tribute to ECW Original Sandman by stepping out to “Enter Sandman” by Metallica before SmackDown got underway. McAfee then proceeded to smack the ...

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown emanated from Philadelphia. Get a complete look at the show with the live blog right here. One thing I really like about Roman Reigns, and The Bloodline, and the way stories are written on Friday Night SmackDown more generally, is that they tend to service many masters all at once. So while Brock Lesnar is waiting in the wings for Reigns, no matter what happens with Finn Balor at Extreme Rules, they can also work an entire bit around Montez Ford being at this week’s show without Angelo Dawkins and turning that into one hell of a main event match. Ford disrespected The Bloodline, and Reigns decided to put the boots to him in response. What came of it was actually one hell of an opportunity for Ford to showcase his skills against the...

Britney Spears dad allegedly monitored her texts, calls, browser history – Page Six

Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, exerted so much control over the pop star’s life that he even monitored her text messages, phone calls and internet browser history, according to bombshell claims in a new documentary. A former member of Britney’s security team alleged in “The New York Times Presents: Controlling Britney Spears,” which premiered Friday on FX and Hulu, that he was once asked to “put parental controls” on the cellphone that the “Toxic” singer had to beg to get under the conservatorship that has restricted her life for the past 13 years. “Britney wanted to get an iPhone … and that was a big deal. Everybody was worried,” said Alex Vlasov, who worked at Black Box Security from 2012 to 2021. “[My boss] Edan [Yemini] approached me and asked...
