Too little or too much sleep could increase your risk for Alzheimers disease, new report shows – KABC-TV

If you don't get enough sleep or are getting too much shut-eye, you may be increasing your risk for Alzheimer's disease. A new report by JAMA Neurology found that people who sleep six hours or less each night had elevated levels of beta-amyloid: a protein found in the brain that's considered a marker for Alzheimer's. However, adults who slept longer than nine hours showed similar reductions to cognitive ability. Researchers say the sweet spot for sleep is seven to eight hours per night. According to the Alzheimer's Association, more than six million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer's disease. The association predicts this number will increase to nearly 50 million Americans by the year 2050. Copyright © 2021 KABC-TV. All Rights Reserved.

After retiring from playing lacrosse at UConn, the DC native decided to try her hand at writing about people playing sports. It's all happening. We're mere hours away from the release of Drake's "Certified Lover Boy." The anticipation for the rapper's sixth studio album is unlike anything we've seen since, well, Kanye West released "Donda" last week. Unless you've been living under a rock -- or have an uncanny ability to tune out rap beefs -- you're probably aware of how the close proximity of the release dates between West's 10th studio album and Drake's latest project have served as the most recent pain point in a played-out, er -- old feud. As we wait to see if Drake responds wi...

Rob Lowe is getting his own Parks And Rec podcast – The A.V. Club

Rob LowePhoto: Pascal Le Segretain (Getty Images) If there’s one heartwarming thing about the COVID-19 pandemic—arguable, but grant the conceit for a second—it’s that it’s served as a wonderful reminder that celebrities are just like the rest of us, i.e., when they get bored and lonely they tend to start podcasts to better spend time with the sounds of their own voices. The “TV stars recap their own old work” genre has become a thriving one in recent years, with Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey dishing on The Office with Office Ladies, and Zach Braff and Donald Faison giving a similar treatment to Scrubs with Fake Doctors, Real Friends. Now we can add Rob Lowe’s name to that of the famous, bored, and microphone-possessed, with news today that Lowe is set to launch Parks And Recollection...
