Why in the World Is the Government Disrupting the Distribution of Monoclonal Antibodies Now? – PJ Media

After demonizing nearly every medication with the potential to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) finally recommended monoclonal antibodies earlier this summer. Before the official recommendation, some providers used them under an emergency use authorization (EUA) granted by the FDA in November 2020. The FDA just granted an EUA to allow their use for SARS-CoV-2 post-exposure and ongoing prophylaxis. This approval will increase demand. Recently, the treatment has gotten quite a bit of media coverage. While the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been promoting the treatment on the Combat Covid website since early summer, one man ensured a nationwide media campaign. Once Florida Governor Ron DeSantis decided to p...

Vaccination continues to be the best way to keep people alive and out of the hospital, he said. Loading Something is loading. COVID-19 is unlikely to be going a...

Theres Even More Live-Action Rick and Morty, and Oh No They Brought Pickles – Gizmodo

Rick and Morty dot com!!!Screenshot: Rick and Morty If fourteen seconds of Back to the Future’s Christopher Lloyd and It’s Jaeden Martell as Rick and Morty were not enough for you last Friday, could we interest you in... another twenty? Adult Swim rocked the internet last week by sharing the incredibly brief clip of Lloyd and Martell portalling into reality C-132 to celebrate its 20th anniversary and Rick and Morty’s season finale, and now it’s back for more to riff off of two of the most iconic moments from the show. The first, simply titled C-1.21—this time less of a reference to the show’s multiverse and more a nod to Lloyd’s history as Doc brown—takes a moment to call back to the show’s infamous season three episode “Pickle Rick”. Although, perhaps for our benefits, we do not get ...

Doctors see growing number of respiratory disease in kids – Associated Press

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Pediatricians and public health officials say a common respiratory disease that most children can easily deal with is spreading earlier than usual in Wisconsin. The disease, called respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, is common in kids under age 2 and usually results in mild symptoms. But it can be severe in infants and older adults. The symptoms for RSV are similar to that of COVID-19, so officials say testing for COVID-19 is important so children can stay home if needed. University of Wisconsin Health pediatrician Greg DeMuri told Wisconsin Public Radio that some children are getting both illnesses at once, which can extend recovery time and make it hard to diagnose what is wrong. “We don’t know if that is worse than just COVID alone or just RSV alone. There’s som...

Star Wars icon Mark Hamill goes viral for tweeting his own name – New York Post

What’s in a name? A trend, if your name is Mark Hamill. The “Star Wars” icon caused chaos in the Twittersphere over the weekend when he simply tweeted his own name and it instantly went viral. Hamill, 69, was challenged by a fan (@LozzaBean12) to “just tweet ‘Mark Hamill’ and you’d get thousands of likes.” To which the actor responded, “Mark Hamill.” Surely enough, since he tweeted Sunday evening, the tweet has been liked almost 560K times and has nearly 30K retweets. George Takei even chimed in on the trend and tweeted, “Mark Hamill. And now we wait.” Fans and other celebs joined in on the fun and started tweeting the star’s name. Filmmaker Ken Olin wrote, “Will that work for anyone? Here goes: Mark Hamill.” German actor Flula Borg added, “...

‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Heads To First Weekend Of October After Super ‘Shang-Chi’ Labor Day Stretch – Deadline

It was the worst kept secret in Hollywood that Sony was bound to vacate Venom: Let There Be Carnage from its Oct. 15 release date, but after the enormous $90M Labor Day weekend success of Disney/Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the Culver City lot has decided to go earlier with their own Marvel sequel on Oct. 1. Venom: Let There be Carnage will screen in 3D, PLF and take over all the Imax screens. Tickets go on sale Wednesday. This returns Venom to its early October stomping ground, the first movie in 2018 setting an opening domestic record for the month with $80.2M before Warner Bros’ Joker pushed the Marvel pic to No. 2 for October a year later with $96.2M. I’ve heard that tracking among males is really hot for Venom 2, and Sony has every reason in the worl...

Phoebe Waller-Bridge exits Amazon’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith series – The Verge

According to Deadline and Variety, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has decided to leave Amazon’s upcoming Mr. and Mrs. Smith series. She was originally set to co-star alongside Donald Glover, but the Hollywood publications report that creative differences between the two have led the Fleabag creator to depart the production. Her exit is described as amicable, and Glover will remain onboard while Waller-Bridge’s role will be recast. Amazon’s Mr. and Mrs Smith series, based on the 2005 film starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, was scheduled to go into production in 2022; in addition to her co-starring role, Waller-Bridge also originally planned to executive produce the series along with Glover. The two previously appeared together in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. Their pairing for Mr....
