Countrys Alan Jackson Reveals Hes Been Living With Nerve Disease For 10 Years – HuffPost

Alan Jackson revealed this week that he’s been living with a degenerative nerve condition for about 10 years, but vowed to continue performing as long as his health will allow.  Appearing on NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday, the country superstar said he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease a decade ago, noting it has impacted his ability to walk.  “It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy ... There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years,” said the two-time Grammy winner. “And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.” According to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, CMT is one of the most common typ...

Whens the best time to get a flu shot? Now, experts say – CNN

"What you should do is get it as soon as you can and in the most expeditious manner," Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer Monday. A potentially early and severe flu season could result from relaxed pandemic safety measures and the population's reduced immunity to the flu after months of avoiding situations where viruses can spread, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said. Flu season typically lasts from October to May in the Northern Hemisphere, and from April to September in the Southern Hemisphere, according to the CDC. The best time to get a flu vaccine -- which reduces the risk of serious flu-related illness, hospitalization or death -- is any time between September and the end of Oct...

Grimes Refuses to Give Her Ex Full Custody of Space – The Cut

Photo: Charles Sykes/Invision/AP/Shutterstock Good news for anyone worried about World War III: Seems like the next big war will happen not on Earth but in space, caused by (who else?) Grimes and Elon Musk. While Musk and NASA are busy spending $178 million to reach one of Jupiter’s moons, Europa, Grimes apparently has her own plans for settling in space. Via an email to “Page Six,” Grimes seemed to confirm the couple’s breakup, informing the world that she will be “colonizing Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune.” Is this … conscious uncoupling? Last week, Musk informed “Page Six” that he and Grimes are “semi-separate...

Some Disney World employees have been with the park for 50 years, since the very beginning – Fox News

Some people really love their jobs. It’s been 50 years since Disney World in Florida first opened. During the time, a lot has changed as old rides were replaced and new characters were brought in. Throughout the years, however, some things have remained constant. Chuck Milam, Earliene Anderson and Forrest Bahruth have been working at Disney World since the park first opened 50 years ago. (AP Photo/John Raoux) Chuck Milam, George Kalogridis and Earline Anderson have been working at the park since its opening day. They recently spoke with the Associated Press about their time at one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. Anderson, who works in merchandising at a hotel in the Magic Kingdom, said, "Disney has been my love, and it still is. I love Disney." ...

Prince Andrew acknowledges US sex assault lawsuit filed by accuser Virginia Giuffre – Fox News

Prince Andrew has acknowledged through his lawyer that he has been served with a lawsuit by an American woman who claims he sexually assaulted her. The acknowledgment was confirmed in a joint agreement signed by a lawyer for the British prince. It was approved by a Manhattan federal judge and entered into the public court record on Tuesday. The court papers said that the 61-year-old had been challenging the acceptance of the lawsuit until lawyers spoke by phone on Sept. 21. An agreement was signed three days later, according to the order signed by Judge Lewis A. Kaplan. In the lawsuit, Virginia Giuffre claims Andrew abused her on multiple occasions in 2001 when she was under 18. His lawyer has called the allegations "baseless." Delivering a lawsuit to a defendant is usually a routine...
