Christina Haack continues to fuel engagement rumors after shes spotted wearing diamond ring – Fox News

Christina Haack continues to spark engagement rumors after she was spotted donning a larger-than-life diamond ring on her special finger while hanging out on a balcony with her boyfriend, Joshua Hall. The "Flip or Flop" star, 38, and Hall were taking in the San Diego, Calif., sun during a getaway earlier this week as photographers snapped away at the sparkler on her hand. The couple appeared comfortable in white t-shirts, shorts and ball caps as they chatted it up. For the book, Rice conducted over 80 interviews with cast- and crew members of the show, both past and present. Priyanka Chopra Posts On ‘The Activist’ And Admits, “The Show Got It Wrong” – Deadline

Priyanka Chopra channeled Bob Dylan in a Twitter post today regarding her part in the controversial  series The Activist, to wit: “You don’t have to be a weatherman/to know which way the wind blows.” Chopra cautiously waited until today to respond to the uproar over the originally proposed show, which was set to focus on competing teams of activists and public figures fighting to promote their causes on social media. The goal was securing the highest amount of funding to win the game. The resulting firestorm of criticism led to an announcement by CBS that its planned competition will shift to a documentary special. The competition was to be judged by Chopra, Usher and Julianne Hough, the latter already responding by admitting she was not qualified to be a judge on such a show.....

CDC study finds childhood obesity increased at ‘substantial and alarming’ levels during COVID pandemic – Fox News

Child obesity levels in the U.S. increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly among children who were already obese from the outset, according to the findings of a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The CDC’s Dr. Alyson Goodman, who contributed to the report, said the results signal a "profound increase in weight gain for kids" and are "substantial and alarming."  This Tuesday, April 3, 2018 file photo shows a closeup of a beam scale in New York. (AP) The study, released Thursday, is the largest yet to look at obesity trends during the pandemic. Pepperoni Crumbs > Bacon Bits

Pepperoni gets the most guff of the cured meat family—always the Lunchables, never the crowning glory of the charcuterie plate. But these compact rounds of salumi have so much more to offer for the savvy home cook. They’re peppery, salty, and full of fat that can be rendered to turn them into crisp miniature UFOs. “It’s a quintessential Italian American ingredient—pepperoni is one of those things that people in the United States always associate with Italian food, but it’s rarely seen in Italy,” says Angie Rito, the co-owner of Manhattan’s Don Angie and the coauthor, with Scott Tacinelli and Jamie Feldmar, of Italian American. “The flavor profile of pepperoni is spicy and garlicky with a hint of smoke, and the ingredient has a familiar and nosta...

Guillermo Del Toro’s next film Nightmare Alley just got its first teaser – The Verge

Guillermo Del Toro’s next film Nightmare Alley is a bit of departure for the director. The new teaser trailer released by Searchlight Pictures on Thursday sees the Oscar award-winning filmmaker trading in his fascination with the supernatural for an R-rated noir set in and around a carnival. Nightmare Alley stars Bradley Cooper as Stanton Carlisle, a nightclub mind reader who becomes tangled up with Cate Blanchett as Dr. Lilith Ritter, a psychiatrist out to debunk him as a fraud. The teaser trailer itself manages to be plenty tense without Del Toro’s usual monsters, featuring carnival sideshows, Willem Dafoe as some kind of ringleader, Blanchett as an obvious femme fatale, and what looks like a live electrocution. You can see for yourself in the teaser above. Del Toro’s very d...
