Kanye Wests Chicago concert wont require vaccines or negative COVID-19 tests – New York Post

No vaccine, no problem — at least for Kanye West’s fans. The rapper’s Chicago listening party is set to be held on Aug. 26 at Soldier Field, however, his venue won’t require music lovers to get vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test. The party for the 44-year-old’s upcoming album “Donda” will admit up to 38,000 fans — slashed down from 63,000 people. Chicago Park District spokeswoman Michele Lemons said in a statement that the reduced capacity is a show of how seriously the city takes the pandemic. “Kanye West’s performance is one of many examples that show that Chicago can be open and safe at the same time,” Lemons said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “We have worked with Soldier Field on COVID-19 safety protocols, as we have other venues includi...

Between flu and Covid-19, winter could be complicated – CNN

Typically, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests people get a flu shot by the end of October. But the coming flu season may be a bad one. With Covid-19 still complicating things, the experts say you may want to do it even earlier. "Years ago, we would say you should wait as long as you can to get a shot, but if you get it in the fall, that really should cover you through the season," said Dr. Claudia Hoyen, director of pediatric infection control at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland. "If people get the chance to go ahead and get their flu shot, whenever they can do it is probably good." Based on the number of viruses she's seen hitting people early this year, she thinks it doesn't bode well for the flu season. Hoyen's children's hospital has been...

The Scarlett Johansson v. Disney Black Widow Lawsuit Enters Round 2 – Gizmodo

Currently, Disney’s lawyers are taking aim at Scarlett Johansson and her lawsuit.Image: Marvel Studios The latest round in the battle between longtime Marvel Cinematic Universe star Scarlett Johansson and Marvel Studios parent company Disney began this weekend, when Disney’s lawyers filed a motion to put the dispute over Black Widow’s profits in private arbitration rather than have a public trial. Johansson’s lawsuit, as you’ll recall, alleges that Marvel promised that Black Widow would have a theatrical-only release, but that Disney forced the studio to make the film available on Disney+ on the same day as its theatrical release. Johansson’s lawyer say this not only cannibalized the movie’s box office profits, costing the actor millions in bonuses, but was in violation of her contra...

Spider-Man: No Way Home steals from a key Marvel comic about the devil – Polygon

The trailer for the much-awaited Spider-Man: No Way Home set the Internet aflame in theories and reference-hunting. But nothing loomed quite so large over the clip as One More Day, a 2007 comics crossover that changed the webslinger’s life forever. One More Day played out the most tragic possible consequence of Peter Parker’s secret identity being revealed to the world and what Peter did to try and avoid it. Initial reaction to the series was fairly negative, but while it might be a story many fans wished hadn’t happened, they couldn’t say that it wasn’t told well, or didn’t have compelling details. And it looks like some of those details will showed up Spider-Man’s next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the very end of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home — in the film...
