The Crowns Imelda Staunton gets into character as Queen Elizabeth II for series 5 filming debut – Daily Mail

Imelda Staunton was pictured on the set of The Crown series 5 for the first time on Monday as she got stuck into her role as Queen Elizabeth II.  The actress, 65, wore a green two-piece under a padded jacket and cosy Hunter boots between takes before boarding a royal boat in Macduff, Scotland.  The Queen famously arrived in Macduff on August 4, 1961 alongside Prince Philip via the Royal Britannia - but series five covers the monarch's reign from the 1990s-2003, with Imelda appearing to recreate a 2003 royal visit to Belfast. Imelda's hair had been styled into the Queen's signature curls and was held in place with a blue hat and a pink hairnet and she carried a Thermos flask in order to keep warm.  There she is: Imelda Staunton (pictured left) was pictured...

Provincetown is safe: Town leader criticizes coverage of COVID-19 delta variant outbreak – SFGate

An outbreak of COVID-19's delta variant in Provincetown, Massachusetts following the Fourth of July spawned several alarming headlines after it was referenced in a leaked document from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention detailing why it changed its indoor mask guidance for vaccinated individuals. "Vaccinated people made up three-quarters of those infected in a massive Massachusetts covid-19 outbreak, pivotal CDC study finds," read a widely shared headline and tweet from the Washington Post. "'It’s Nowhere Near Over’: A Beach Town’s Gust of Freedom, Then a U-turn," reads a similar headline from the New York Times. The study found that vaccinated individuals who do contract the delta variant have as much virus in their noses as ...

Dr. Scott Gottlieb sees Covid vaccine boosters for vulnerable people in U.S. as early as September – CNBC

Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC on Monday he believes that Covid vaccine booster shots will start to be given in the U.S. as early as next month to older people and those with compromised immune systems. "My guess is sometime by September or October we will be giving booster shots to older individuals and certainly immunocompromised," said the former Food and Drug Administration chief, currently a board member at several companies including Pfizer. "I just think we're on a slower path here," he said on "Squawk Box," referring to other countries' booster shot plans. "Quite frankly, it's unfortunate because I do believe at least for older individuals and people who were vaccinated back in December, January should be contemplating this more actively," he said, adding those people...

Jennifer Coolidge Wants You to Know Mike White Is a Genius – The Ringer

There are no weak links in the all-star cast of The White Lotus, the six-episode miniseries from creator Mike White now more than halfway through its run on HBO. There are, however, some standouts—chief among them Jennifer Coolidge, the veteran character actress who’s made The White Lotus a showcase for her many talents. Coolidge is best known for comedic roles in movies like Best in Show and Legally Blonde, in which Elle Woods taught her (and the world) how to bend and snap like a pro. Lately, she’s earned plaudits for her role in Emerald Fennell’s Oscar-winning Promising Young Woman, where she plays Carey Mulligan’s quiet, concerned mother. The film was a noted change of pace for Coolidge; her muted sorrow was a marked contrast to the peppy space cadets she often portrays. With Th...
