Let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room before we get into the proceedings this evening: these are weird times for the NXT faithful. We don’t know what’s truly happening with the black and gold brand, nor can we discern fact from very plausible fiction. With that said, it feels obvious that change is in the air so let’s enjoy what NXT is for as long as it is until the day it morphs into something else. Cool? Cool. Undisputed Part III: The Third One There are movies heavy on story and light on plot. Mad Max: Fury Road comes to mind as its fairly simple plot houses a lot of story. Jennifer Aniston has well wishes for her ex on his birthday. The 52-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to wish Justin Theroux a happy birthday. The two began dating in 2011, married in 2015 and separated in 2018. The tribute, which Aniston shared on her Instagram Story, started with a photo of Theroux wearing a suit while sitting next to his dog Kuma. "Happy birthday JT," the "Friends" star wrote over the picture. Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit are requiring proof that you’re fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have tested negative for the virus within the past three days, in order to enter their current run of concerts. The policy has caused friction with at least one other artist, Marc Broussard, and landed Isbell on MSNBC to explain his position. (“I’m all for freedom, but if you’re dead, you don’t have any freedoms at all.”) Now Isbell has cancelled Wednesday’s scheduled show with Lucinda Williams at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston because the venue will not institute his vaccine policy. Dead wrong. Well, maybe not that serious, but the Emmys will not be doing the old Steven Soderbergh route and setting the ceremony in a train station. We also assume the award for Best Actor won’t be the show’s finale, and you can pretty much guarantee Anthony Hopkins won’t be winning—unless he’s nominated for those delightful Instagram posts, which he isn’t. This year, it sounds like the Emmys won’t doing the whole Zoom-based ceremony, so don’t expect to see Jason Sudekis in a hoodie like the Golden Globes. Instead, they’re moving the ceremony outside, keeping a tight lid on...
