Amber Heard is a mom! The actress, 35, is celebrating the birth of a baby girl — months after ex-husband Johnny Depp lost his libel case involving her. A source exclusively told Page Six on Thursday that Heard is “beyond in love” with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, whom she named after her late mom, Paige. Oonagh was born on April 8 with the help of a surrogate after Heard was told she would never be able to carry her own baby, friends revealed. A source who knows the star told us: “Oonagh is absolutely gorgeous, and Amber is besotted. She always knew that she wanted to be a mom, and this is her greatest wish come true. West Nile virus found for first time this year in Massachusetts mosquito sample – WCVB Boston

West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in Massachusetts for the first time this year, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health said. The state health department said the presence of West Nile virus was confirmed Thursday by the state health lab in a mosquito sample collected on June 29 in the town of Medford in Middlesex County. Health officials said no human or animal cases of West Nile virus or Eastern Equine Encephalitis have been detected so far this year. "There is no elevated risk level or risk-level change associated with this finding," the state health department said. “The first WNV infected mosquito of the season is always a signal that it is time to start taking steps to avoid mosquito bites,” acting DPH commissioner Margret Cooke says. "WNV is part of summer...

As Delta variant surges, Fauci and Walensky say vaccines, not masks, are the solution – Yahoo News

WASHINGTON — Top science officials in the Biden administration sought on Thursday to allay concerns about the highly transmissible Delta variant of the coronavirus, which has prompted renewed calls for mask wearing in some places. Compounding the alarm was an announcement last week from the World Health Organization that even vaccinated people should continue to wear masks. “Vaccine alone won't stop community transmission," a top WHO deputy explained in justifying the move, which appeared to cause some confusion. But as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top science adviser to the Biden administration, explained during a Thursday briefing of the White House pandemic response team, the global situation cannot be compared to that in the United States. Those vaccination rates are “dramatically different...

Chris Pratt Teases ‘Tomorrow War,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ – Variety

In Amazon’s new science fiction film “The Tomorrow War,” star Chris Pratt leans heavy into the “fiction” part. “No, I don’t believe in aliens,” Pratt told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the movie’s June 30 premiere at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. In “The Tomorrow War,” Pratt’s Dan Forester is drafted into a future war to save mankind from losing a global war against a deadly alien species. Traveling to the year 2051, Dan teams up with a scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) to ensure a long life for his young daughter and to rewrite the planet’s fate. The movie was supposed to hit theaters, but rerouted to Amazon Prime Video when the pandemic hit. “There are a lot of films you would want to see in the theater,” Pratt said. “But I ...

Gaetz invites Britney Spears to speak before Congress: You have been mistreated by America’s legal system – Fox News

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., with support from three other GOP House members, has invited Britney Spears to speak before Congress about her conservatorship battle, acknowledging in a letter to the 39-year-old pop icon Wednesday, "You have been mistreated by America’s legal system."  "We want to help," the letter signed by Gaetz, as well as Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Burgess Owens, R-Ohio, and Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., reads. "The United States Congress should hear your story and be inspired to bipartisan action. What happened to you should never happen to any other American. Congress can make things better and you can inform our policy decisions." "If you will speak to Congress, we are ready to listen," the letter adds.  The invitation came the same day a Los Angeles Superior Court B...

CDC director: Delta variant is growing threat to unvaccinated people – POLITICO

Walensky’s remarks come just days before the July 4 holiday, which President Joe Biden has targeted as the date by which the country would return to normal life. Biden also set a goal in May of having 70 percent of U.S. adults vaccinated with at least one Covid-19 shot by the holiday — a goal that the White House will narrowly miss amid dwindling demand for vaccines. About 57 percent of American adults are fully vaccinated, according to CDC data. The Biden administration is in the midst of an aggressive campaign to reduce vaccine hesitancy. Top officials including Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical adviser, and First Lady Jill Biden have traveled to communities in Washington, D.C. and Florida in an effort to address Americans’ concerns about Covid-19 shots. But the rate of v...
