Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen sues Massachusetts cannabis dispensary over unauthorized billboard – WCVB Boston

The comedian behind the "Borat" character is suing a Massachusetts cannabis dispensary that he accuses of using the character on a billboard without his permission. Sacha Baron Cohen is seeking $9 million in damages, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court in Boston.Baron Cohen's lawsuit said the billboard for Somerset-based Solar Therapeutics Inc. showed Baron Cohen posing as Borat with two thumbs up and the words “It’s nice!” -- one of Borat's catchphrases.It first appeared beside a Massachusetts interstate on April 9. “By use of the billboard, the defendants falsely have conveyed to the public that Mr. Baron Cohen has endorsed their products and is affiliated with their business,” according to the complaint filed Monday. “To the contrary, Mr. Baron Cohen never has used...

Charlie Robinson, a veteran actor best known for playing court clerk Mac Robinson on the NBC sitcom "Night Court" and makeup artist Newdell on NBC's "Buffalo Bill," died Sunday at age 75. A centralized repository of COVID-19 health records built last year is beginning to show results, starting with a new paper published today. The repository is the largest set of COVID-19 records to date, and was built by a team of researchers and data experts last year to help make sense of COVID-19. The study, published in the journal JAMA Network Open, looked at risk factors for severe cases of COVID-19 and traced the progression of the disease over time. The authors built machine learning models to predict which hospitalized patients would develop severe disease based on information collected on their first day in a hospital. A number of health systems, including in Maryland and D.C., have moved to require coronavirus vaccines for their employees, arguing that they are essential to protect staff and vulnerable patients.
