Candace Owens rips Chrissy Teigens cyberbullying apology: ‘It’s who she is’ – Fox News

Author and conservative commentator Candace Owens is saying not so fast on Chrissy Teigen’s second social media apology weeks after the former swimsuit model took a vow of silence following cyberbullying claims. "The problem with #chrissyteigen’s diatribe is that she’s apologizing for who she was ‘a long time ago,’" Owens wrote in response to Teigen’s lengthy memorandum explaining her disposition for her past actions. She continued: "Let’s be clear— Chrissy spent the last 6 years online harassing conservative women who DID NOTHING to her. This wasn’t some off-colored period of her life. It’s who she is." On Monday, Teigen, 35, took to social media to share a lengthy post she penned on Medium addressing the "VERY humbling few weeks" and offering her apologies to anyone she may have hur...

State just over 71,500 vaccinations from reaching 70% figure PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- There are no new COVID-19 related deaths in Oregon, and the state’s death toll remains at 2,730, the Oregon Health Authority reported Monday. OHA also reported 127 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. today bringing the state total to 205,154. CDC data tracker issue update OHA has relied on a daily U.S. Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) data update to report the number of people who need to receive a COVID-19 vaccination to reach Oregon’s goal of vaccinating 70% of people 18 and older. Unfortunately, CDC is experiencing an issue with the data feed that contributes to its COVID data tracker dashboard, which Oregon uses to tra...

So-called Delta variant of COVID-19 detected in Hawaii, DOH says – Hawaii News Now

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii health officials reported the presence of the latest COVID variant in the islands Monday. The DOH said routine genome sequencing surveillance conducted by the State Laboratories Division discovered the SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.617.2 — also known as the Delta variant — in an Oahu individual. Officials said the person was fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to traveling to Nevada in early May, around the time the variant was being reported in that state. When the person returned to Hawaii with a negative COVID test, DOH said the person began experiencing mild symptoms and later tested positive. That person along with their close contacts were put into quarantine. Officials said there are no signs that household transmission occurred, or secondary cases w...

Lin-Manuel Miranda Addresses Lack of Afro-Latino Representation in ‘In the Heights’: ‘We Fell Short’ – Variety

“In the Heights” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is addressing criticism over the film’s lack of Afro-Latino representation. In a statement posted to Twitter, Miranda apologized for not including more dark-skinned Afro-Latinos in the film’s cast, especially in the leading roles. “I started writing ‘In the Heights’ because I didn’t feel seen. And over the past 20 years all I wanted was for us — ALL of us — to feel seen,” Miranda’s statement begins. “I’m seeing the discussion around Afro-Latino representation in our film this weekend and it is clear that many in our dark-skinned Afro-Latino community don’t feel sufficiently represented within it, particularly among the leading roles.” The discussion Miranda mentions stems from a video article in The Root, published on Wednesday, wh...

8 states see a rise in infection rates, 29% of Republicans dont want vaccine – yet: Live COVID-19 updates – Yahoo News

Although new COVID-19 cases are declining across most of the nation, eight states are seeing increases – and seven of those have below-average vaccination rates, new data reveals. Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Missouri, Nevada, Texas, Utah and Wyoming have seen their seven-day rolling averages for infection rates rise from two weeks earlier, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. All of them except Hawaii have recorded vaccination rates that are lower than the U.S. average of 43% fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Some states are seeing increased immunity after high rates of natural spread of the disease, which has so far killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. “We certainly are getting some population benefit from our previous ...

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Cases Up Across the Southern U.S., CDC Warns – Self

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is spreading across parts of the Southern United States during an unusual time of year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned last week. On June 10, the CDC issued a health advisory alerting health care providers and caregivers about an unseasonable rise in cases of RSV, a common, flu-like respiratory illness that is usually mild but can cause serious sickness in vulnerable populations—including babies, young kids, and older adults who have chronic medical conditions. And according to the advisory, babies and toddlers may be at particularly high risk for severe illness as we continue to emerge from the pandemic.  RSV usually peaks during cold and flu season in the U.S., but we didn't see that pattern this year. Cases dropped off sha...

In Kevin Can F**k Himself, Annie Murphy’s Allison runs on Dunkin’ and also suppressed rage. Photo: Jojo Whilden/AMC Kevin Can F**k Himself begins as many network sitcoms have countless times before: with a scene inside the illuminated living room of a blue-collar household where the husband, Kevin McRoberts (Eric Petersen), is earning chuckles for behaving like a jackass. When his wife, Allison (Annie Murphy), wanders in, she gets hit in the face with a ping-pong ball, referred to as “Mom” (she has no children), and reminded that her age is “lady 35” while her spouse’s is “boy 35.” “What’s the difference?” Allison asks. “I’m...
