For the sci-fi plane mystery series Manifest, the fearful creature is NBC’s decision to not renew for a fourth season. The series joins Debris and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist in the reject pile building up outside of the NBC offices. It seems like every few years science has something new to say about whether coffee is good or bad for you. But a recent analysis of past research found that the evidence is pretty overwhelming: Three to five cups of coffee a day could keep death away — at least a little longer.  “These periodic scares have given the public a very distorted view,” said Walter C. CDC to Ban Dogs From 113 Countries for a Year Over Rabies Fears – Gizmodo

The new policy, as first reported by Reuters on Monday, will suspend the importation of dogs from 113 countries starting July 14. These countries include Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Russia, Ecuador, Cuba, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil, and China, all of which are considered to be at high risk for rabies.
