Pediatricians work to close gaps in Covid-19 vaccine coverage by vaccinating adults – CNN

When the Biden administration kicked off a "month of action" this June, aimed at vaccinating 70% of the adult population with at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose by July 4, US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy acknowledged it wouldn't be an easy task. "Because we had so much success early on, we are now getting to the part of the campaign which is tougher," Murthy said. "We've got to look further, if you will -- convince more people, get to the right information, increase access even further."  With CDC data showing 64.6% of the adult population vaccinated with at least one dose and vaccines available to Americans 12 and older, pediatricians are now working to fill in some of the gaps in vaccine coverage. One month after Sandhills Pediatrics in Southern Pines, North Carolina started offering...

Moderna, protein-based Covid jabs safe for use in kids.. – Greatandhra.com

Moderna's mRNA Covid vaccine and a protein-based shot is safe for use in young children and offers strong immunity response, with no adverse effects, according to a research on baby rhesus macaques. The study by a team of scientists at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian reported that both the vaccines elicited strong neutralising antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing Covid-19, in 16 baby rhesus macaques. The antibody responses persisted for 22 weeks. The research, published in the journal Science Immunology, suggests that vaccines for young children are likely important, safe tools to curtail the pandemic. "The level...

Jennifer Lopez getting serious about Ben Affleck as he slowly gets to know her kids: report – Fox News

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's relationship is moving right along. The two have rekindled their romance in recent weeks and while they've offered no public statement on the matter, the two have made little effort to conceal their affection for one another. Though only a few months into their reunion, a source told People magazine that the couple took a big step recently by bringing Lopez's kids – 13-year-old twins Max and Emme – to dinner with the Oscar winner, 48. "They are slowly getting to know Ben," said the insider. "Everything seems to be running smoothly." Earworms Dont Just Haunt You When Youre Awake, Sleep Study Reveals – ScienceAlert

We're all familiar with songs getting stuck in our head while we're awake, but it turns out this can happen during sleep as well. A new study investigating the phenomenon indicates that earworms invading our brains at night could cause problems in getting to sleep and staying asleep.   "Our brains continue to process music even when none is playing, including apparently while we are asleep," says neuroscientist Michael Scullin from Baylor University. He and colleagues used surveys of 199 people, as well as a sleep lab test involving 50 volunteers, to measure how listening to music before bedtime affects sleep. In particular, the team focussed on catchy earworms, technically known as 'involuntary musical imagery'. In the survey part of the study, participants who frequently listened t...

NXT recap & reactions (June 15, 2021): SoCal submissions and big decisions! – Cageside Seats

NXT returned last night (June 15) from the Capitol Wrestling Center (CWC) in Orlando, Florida. You can find the results at the live blog here. “It’s time for a change” After weeks of “bedlam and carnage” on the weekly NXT show, a frustrated GM William Regal admitted at Takeover: In Your House that in his seven years things had never been as bad as they were right now. The straw that broke the camel’s back appeared to be all of the brawls between members of the fatal five-way before the main event, but the fight between Dakota Kai and Shotzi Blackheart couldn’t have helped matters. Seemingly rendered impotent by the refusal of anyone on the roster to acknowledge his authority, Regal vowed that it was “time for a change” to NXT. Was that change a submission specialist from Souther...

Long Live Country Charcuterie

I was probably about ten when I had my first taste of pâté. It was at a small, hole-in-the-wall French bistro and café in Charleston, South Carolina, that I still frequent as an adult. I remember sitting up at the high-top counter and smelling the rich black coffee that was brewing, seeing all the brightly colored murals and pictures of past guests plastered on the walls, and looking out to the left to see horse-drawn carriages clicking and clacking down the street. I’d never been outside my little city (and still haven’t been outside the United States), so for me, that early afternoon lunch was as close as I could imagine France to be. I don’t quite remember which family member I was with, but it was someone who knew how to feed my curiosity a...
