Michelle Pfeiffer’s Grown-Up Daughter Claudia Rose Is So Stunning in This Rare Mother-Daughter Photo – Yahoo Entertainment

Michelle Pfeiffer’s daughter, Claudia Rose, is seriously all grown up. Pfeiffer, who adopted Claudia at birth with her husband, Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley, shared a rare photo of her stunning daughter on Instagram. For someone who’s reportedly terrified of the platform, she posts some pretty awesome stuff (who remembers that 27 year wedding anniversary tribute post?) And in her latest post, she and daughter Claudia look like two peas in a pod. Not only does Claudia Rose look gorgeous, but also she’s totally grown up! Oh, how time flies. Pfeiffer posted the sweet selfie to Instagram writing, “Out on the town with my girl ❤️.” It seems like the pair had a mother-daughter date and it looks like they’re having a lot of fun. Unhappy marriages can be fatal, increasing male death rate by 19%: Israeli study – The Times of Israel

Men who are unhappy in their marriages are at higher risk of death, especially from strokes, Tel Aviv University scholars have concluded. “What we found, which is surprising, is that dissatisfaction among men with their marriage is a risk factor for death, of a similar magnitude to smoking, or men failing to exercise,” Dr. Shahar Lev-Ari, the public health researcher behind the study, told The Times of Israel. His team insists that the research shows that health authorities should start promoting marriage therapy, in order for people to get sick less frequently and live longer. “Marital education programs for couples should be implemented as part of health promotion strategies for the general population,” they wrote in a newly published peer-reviewed academic article. ...

Birthdays linked to spread of Covid in areas with high transmission – The Guardian

Coronavirus US study finds households with recent birthdays about 30% more likely to have positive diagnosis Households with recent birthdays were more likely to test positive with Covid in areas with high infection rates, according to an analysis of nearly 3m homes in the US.The study, which emanates from health insurance claims data collected in the first 45 weeks of 2020 across the country, was designed to assess the potential risk of small gatherings on the spread of Covid-19.The analysis showed that in places with low Covid prevalence, there was no evidence of any increased rate of infection in the weeks following birthdays. But, in areas where the virus was circulating in the community, households with recent birthdays were roughly 30% more likely to have a Covid diagnosis, com...

NMDOH: Dont touch the bats! – KOAT New Mexico

The New Mexico Department of Health is asking residents to keep their hands to themselves, well at least when it comes to unknown animals and/or wildlife in distress. According to a release from the DOH sent out Monday, the state has received increased reports of people coming in contact with bats. “Because of current high temperatures and lack of water, bats can have the tendency to fall on the ground from their perches where the nocturnal animals normally hang during daylight. Their reaction to extreme heat can cause bats to seem ill and display unusual behavior,” the release said. “If you see a sick or dead bat, don’t touch it,” said NMDOH Cabinet Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins. “You might think you’re doing the kind thing by trying to help an animal, but if that animal bites or scr...

The Flash Set Photos Reveal Supergirl and Michael Keatons Return as Bruce Wayne – /FILM

The Flash is currently filming, and whenever a big blockbuster starts shooting on location – out in the real world, not on a studio set – it’s bound to generate set photos. These are the spy-like images that are often not very clear, or not in focus, and sometimes they’re even kind of confusing. But they also often serve as our first real look at what we can expect to see up on the big screen. And new The Flash set photos have done just that, giving us our first looks at Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and – most exciting of all – Michael Keaton back in the role of Bruce Wayne. Supergirl Takes Flight Last week, The Flash director Andy Muschietti revealed a close-up shot of the Supergirl suit that’s worn in the film by S...

Hell Freezes Over? Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners In Deal To Make Movies For Netflix – Deadline

What a difference two years and a global pandemic make. Steven Spielberg, who a couple of years ago was quoted — his camp maintains he never said it or anything he might have said was severely taken out of context — drawing a clear line between theatrically released films and streamer films, has berthed his Amblin Partners into a partnership with Netflix that will cover multiple new feature films per year. It shows once again the Netflix-led progress toward dissolving the lines between streamed and theatrical films and symbolically it is a big deal for Netflix’s Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber. The Netflix deal will co-exist side by side with the one Spielberg and Amblin have at Universal Pictures. Neither will have first shot at Amblin properties; Spielberg will make some fil...

Alex Rodriguez parties with Ben Afflecks ex Lindsay Shookus – Page Six

Alex Rodriguez was spotted hanging out with Ben Affleck’s ex Lindsay Shookus at her birthday party on Saturday, a video obtained by Page Six reveals. In the clip, Rodriguez, 45, is seated right beside Shookus, 41, at an intimate backyard gathering in the Hamptons as Josh Beckerman, known as the “Foodie Magician,” performs a magic routine for the “Saturday Night Live” producer’s guests. The timing of Shookus and A-Rod’s hangout sparks interest given that their respective exes Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s rekindled romance continues to heat up. However, we’re told the pair are longtime pals and nothing more. A rep for Rodriguez told Page Six on Monday, “There is absolutely zero there,” adding, “They’ve been friends for 15 years.” The video was fi...

Drinking From This Special Straw Promises to Cure the Hiccups 90% of the Time – Gizmodo

For most of us, the occasional bout of hiccups is an annoyance that often goes away all on its own, or through some bizarre homegrown cure. For others, however, it can be a serious ongoing issue resulting from a medication or a side effect of surgery. When standing on your head in a kiddie pool full of water while juggling ping pong balls doesn’t work, the HiccAway straw promises to be a more reliable cure. So what are hiccups, exactly? They start when the diaphragm, the muscle in your chest that contracts so your lungs fill with air, begins to spasm, starting a chain reaction when the vagus nerve panics and quickly closes the epiglottis at the back of your throat, creating that dreaded “hic” sound. It’s an emergency reflex that’s all but useless to modern humans, but we’re stuck with it...

The rare but devastating infection can destroy the eyes and spread to the brain. Cases now top 31,000, rising from an estimate of dozens to a few hundred cases just last month. Media reports have tallied over 2,100 deaths, but federal health authorities have not released an official death count. Past medical reviews have estimated that the fungal infection—mucormycosis—has an overall fatality rate of around 50 percent. However, mortality rates vary by patients’ underlying conditio...
