FDA to add warning about rare heart inflammation to Moderna, Pfizer vaccine fact sheets – POLITICO

The CDC meeting follows an FDA advisory committee discussion earlier this month about cases of myocarditis and pericarditis seen in a small number of patients who received either of the two available mRNA shots. Health officials are particularly focused on cases seen in people 30 and younger. FDA wanted to hear from the CDC committee before finalizing the language, Fink said. The FDA warning likely will note that there may be a risk of developing myocarditis or pericarditis within a week after receiving a second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna shots, and that most cases appear to resolve themselves, he said. Long-term effects, however, are still unclear. The scope of the problem: The conditions are rare, with more than 1,200 cases under investigation as of June 11 among more th...

Snoop Dogg Reveals What Pete Davidson Is Like Smoking Weed – HuffPost

It seems Pete Davidson is no Willie Nelson when it comes to smoking pot. At least according to Snoop Dogg. The “Who am I?” rapper who famously loves getting high was asked by the hosts of E!’s “Nightly Pop” Tuesday which of his celebrity friends can’t handle their weed. Snoop had a pretty fire answer. “The last person I just blew with, I knocked his wig off,” Snoop said. “I’m supposed to see him again this week, my good friend Pete Davidson.” When one host expressed disbelief that the “Saturday Night Live” star “can’t hang,” Snoop elaborated, describing Davidson as like the little stoner who could.  “He fights and he fights and he fights, then he says, ‘Hey, man, I’m cool,’” Snoop said. Snoop also revealed the last time he was “too high.” It was in 2007, when he was in Amst...

Likely link between rare heart inflammation and Pfizer, Moderna vaccines -CDC advisers – Reuters

June 23 (Reuters) - Rare cases of heart inflammation in adolescents and young adults is likely linked to vaccination with the Pfizer/BioNTech (PFE.N), and Moderna (MRNA.O) COVID-19 shots, a group of doctors advising the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a presentation released on Wednesday. The COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Technical (VaST) Work Group said in their report that the risk of myocarditis or pericarditis following vaccination with the mRNA-based shots in adolescents and young adults is notably higher after the second dose and in males. The CDC said in another report that the patients with heart inflammation following vaccination generally recover from the symptoms and do well. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is meeting on Wednesda...

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin bring all 6 kids — in suits — to ‘Boss Baby 2’ premiere – Yahoo Entertainment

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin brought all six kids of their kids to The Boss Baby: Family Business premiere in NYC — and they were appropriately attired. "Will the real Boss Baby please stand up?" Alec, who again voices the main character in the film sequel, wrote on Instagram along with a photo of his brood.  All the kids — Carmen, 7, Rafael, 6, Leonardo, 4, Romeo, 3, and infants Eduardo and Lucia — were in black suits like their parents — and, of course, like Boss Baby. The bigger Baldwin children also carried briefcases to complete the look, and two of the boys rocked Boss Baby aviators. The former yoga instructor called them, "Some Bossy Baldwinitos" and told her followers to "zoom in—each face is priceless," as they rocked some pretty serious mugs. Hilaria also shared some behind-the-sc...

St. Louis County monitoring delta variant as Missouri COVID cases spike – KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis

CLAYTON, Mo. – St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page is addressing the region’s vaccination efforts. Local leaders are concerned the area could see a spike in COVID numbers because of the delta variant. He says that there does not yet appear to be a spike in COVID cases. “Missouri is the number one state in the nation for the rate of new COVID cases. That is in a large part due to low vaccination rates in rural areas. Like any variant of this virus it spreads quickly and pays no mind to state, county, or city borders. The Delta variant threatens St. Louis County. There is no doubt about that. Fortunately we have not seen increases in new COVID cases here yet. We have noticed a slight uptick in cases this week, averaging 50 new cases a day. We are not certain if that i...
