WWE Raw results, recap, reactions: Dumb and dumber – Cageside Seats

Usually I start these recaps with positive stuff and work my way into the misses. There were very few hits this week. No more than two smaller things and a whole segment/match got a smile out of me. A majority of this show was just lame. I’m gonna just throw this here now - check out the live blog by Claire Elizabeth and show her love. She deserves it. More than I. So Miz TV kicked us off, and John Morrison was wearing garlic around his neck, and while that’s not how you repel zombies, I appreciate the effort. Also a... drip stick? Yeah. A drip stick. Miz spewed on about how he needed to be back to be a support for all superstars. He introduced Charlotte Flair and Morison provided music to accompany her entrance. Flair made Miz stand for her even with his injury. That’s wh...

Photograph: Rex/Shutterstock Dr Anthony Fauci, the top infectious diseases expert in the US, has warned it is too early to declare victory against Covid-19 as cases fall in the country to the lowest rates since last June. “We don’t want to declare victory prematurely because we still have a ways to go,” Fauci told the Guardian in an interview. “But the more and more people that can get vaccinated, as a community, the community will be safer and safe...

Set in the backdrop of London, this is a crime drama and Dhanush plays a gangster. He becomes a gangster out of choice and then gives his rivals a run for their life. From Tamil Nadu, he goes on to rule the streets of London. Dhanush’s just phenomenal. His long moustache is another highlight to his look and the way he delivers dialogues with subtleness is superb. China reports first human case of H10N3 bird flu – Reuters

A 41-year-old man in China's eastern province of Jiangsu has been confirmed as the first human case of infection with the H10N3 strain of bird flu, China's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Tuesday. The man, a resident of the city of Zhenjiang, was hospitalised on April 28 after developing a fever and other symptoms, the NHC said in a statement. He was diagnosed as having the H10N3 avian influenza virus on May 28, it said, but did not give details on how the man had been infected with the virus. H10N3 is a low pathogenic, or relatively less severe, strain of the virus in poultry and the risk of it spreading on a large scale was very low, the NHC added. The man was stable and ready to be discharged from hospital. Medical observation of his close contacts had not found any other case...

Israeli scientists extend mices lives by 23%, say method may work on humans – The Times of Israel

Israeli scientists have boosted the life expectancy of mice by 23 percent, in an advance they hope could eventually be replicated in humans. They increased the supply of a protein, SIRT6, which normally wanes with aging, in 250 mice. In peer-reviewed research just published in the journal Nature Communications, they have revealed the increased life expectancy — and also stated that the protein-rich mice were more youthful and less susceptible to cancer. “The change in life expectancy is significant, when you consider that an equivalent jump in human life expectancy would have us living on average until almost 120,” said Prof. Haim Cohen of Bar-Ilan University. “The changes we saw in mice may be translatable to humans, and if so that would be exciting,” he said. Il...

Australias Victoria state calls for patience on end of COVID-19 lockdown – Reuters

A healthcare worker administers a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) test at a drive-through testing centre on the first day of a seven-day lockdown, as the state of Victoria looks to curb the spread of an outbreak in Melbourne, Australia, May 28, 2021. REUTERS/Sandra Sanders Australia's Victoria state authorities said on Tuesday that it was still unclear whether a snap one-week lockdown to contain a fresh COVID-19 outbreak would end as planned on Thursday night, as the state grapples with a growing virus outbreak. Australia's second-most populous state was plunged into the lockdown on May 27 after the state reported its first locally transmitted cases in nearly three months early last week, forcing its near seven million residents to remain home except for essential business. Nine new local...

Mexico accuses Zara, Anthropologie and Patowl of cultural appropriation – CNN

Written by Megan C. Hills, CNN Mexico has accused fashion brands Zara, Anthropologie and Patowl of cultural appropriation, claiming that they "made use" of designs created by the country's indigenous populations. In a series of letters written to the brands, Mexico's Ministry of Culture asked for a "public explanation." It also called for "benefits" to be "given back to the creative communities" that it believes invented the embroidery techniques and design motifs. The letters, which are signed by Culture Minister Alejandra Frausto Guerrero and dated May 13, were made public on Friday. They pinpoint several items of clothing from the three brands alongside corresponding examples of garments created by indigenous craftspeople from the Oaxaca region. Mexico's government said that symb...
