June 10 coronavirus news – CNN

Vaccine advisers to the US Food and Drug Administration on Thursday debated what kind of detailed information the agency would need to consider authorizing the use of coronavirus vaccines in children under age 12. While a few advisers said it’s far too soon to consider using vaccines in children because kids are at such low risk from the virus, most argued that it’s important to have authorizations on hand should there be a resurgence of the virus in the fall and winter. The members of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee were not asked to provide specific advice or a vote. The FDA will now advise companies on what kinds of clinical trials and data it would like to see to consider extending use of authorized vaccines to children. Dr. Cody Meissner, director of p...

COVID-19 Statistics | June 10, 2021 – Lost Coast Outpost

Four new cases of COVID-19 and two new hospitalizations have been reported in Humboldt County today. The total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus is 4,408 after a previously reported case was determined to be from another jurisdiction and removed from the count. The State of California announced that it plans to align its masking guidance with that of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on June 15. The guidance allows for fully vaccinated people to go unmasked in most public settings, with the exception of health care settings, indoor youth settings, homeless and emergency shelters, public transit and correctional facilities.   The CDC guidance still requires unvaccinated individuals to mask in indoor public settings and businesses as well...

Prince Edward calls royal family tension very sad, wishes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the very best – Fox News

Prince Edward spoke out about the tension in the British royal family. The youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II told CNN in an interview that the situation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is "very sad." The couple stepped down as senior members of the royal family in March 2020, moved to California, and told Oprah Winfrey in a tell-all interview that they felt unsupported and unprotected by "the firm." "Listen, weirdly we've all been there before -- we've all had excessive intrusion and attention in our lives," Edward commented to the outlet. "And we've all dealt with it in slightly different ways, and listen, we wish them the very best of luck. It's a really hard decision." Addition of “Standby” to Wait Times in My Disney Experience Suggests FastPass May Return Soon – wdwnt.com

Since Walt Disney World reopened last year, FastPass+ service has been suspended due to COVID-19. However, with physical distancing changes and more, we may see the convenient line-skipper return soon (altered to a paid-format per the long-standing rumors, but nothing is confirmed yet). A My Disney Experience app update also points to the return of FastPasses. The word “standby” has been added to the posted wait times in the app, suggesting there is (or will be) an option other than standby. This may also indicate virtual queues will be instated at more attractions. As always, keep following WDWNT for all of your Disney Parks news, and for the absolute latest, follow WDW News Today on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Related

‘She-Hulk’ Series at Disney Plus Casts Jameela Jamil – Variety

The “She-Hulk” series at Disney Plus has cast Jameela Jamil in a major role, Variety has confirmed with sources. The series centers on lawyer Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), cousin of Bruce Banner, who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control. Jamil will reportedly play Titania, a Marvel supervillain with incredible strength and a frequent rival of She-Hulk. Reps for Marvel Studios and Jamil did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment. This post will be updated should that change. Along with Maslany, Jamil joins previously announced cast members Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Tim R...

Why do some people get side effects after COVID vaccines? – New York Post

Why do some people get side effects after COVID-19 vaccines? Temporary side effects including headache, fatigue and fever are signs the immune system is revving up — a normal response to vaccines. And they’re common. “The day after getting these vaccines, I wouldn’t plan anything that was strenuous physical activity,” said Dr. Peter Marks, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s vaccine chief, who experienced fatigue after his first dose. Here’s what’s happening: The immune system has two main arms, and the first kicks in as soon as the body detects a foreign intruder. White blood cells swarm to the site, prompting inflammation that’s responsible for chills, soreness, fatigue and other side effects. This rapid-response step of your immune system ten...

CDC warns about spike in RSV cases across South – CNN

"Due to this increased activity, CDC encourages broader testing for RSV among patients presenting with acute respiratory illness who test negative for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19," the CDC said in the alert. "RSV can be associated with severe disease in young children and older adults. This health advisory also serves as a reminder to healthcare personnel, childcare providers, and staff of long-term care facilities to avoid reporting to work while acutely ill -- even if they test negative for SARS-CoV-2." RSV is spread like most other respiratory diseases -- by small droplets and on contaminated surfaces. "RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia in children under one year of age in the United States. Infants, young children, and older adults with chroni...

N.J. company where husband, wife died from COVID fined $13K – NJ.com

A Monmouth County manufacturer where two employees — a husband and wife— died from coronavirus and dozens of other employees got infected has been fined more than $13,000 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for failing to protect its workers from exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace. The agency on Thursday announced the findings of its investigation into Eatontown-based biotechnology company Avantor Fluid Handling LLC, where two people died and two were hospitalized from the virus last fall, OSHA said in a news release. In total, 30 out of 50 employees at the facility tested positive for the coronavirus, OSHA said. “Two workers lost their lives and others were sickened because their employer failed to take the precautions necessary to keep them safe,” said OSHA Area Dir...

Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher slams Prince Harry for dissing royal family – Fox News

Noel Gallagher hasn't been impressed with Prince Harry's outspokenness about the royal family.  On Thursday, the Oasis frontman, 54, called the Duke of Sussex a "f–king woke snowflake" who shouldn't be "dissing" his family. "Prince William. I feel that f–king lad’s pain," Gallagher told The Sun. "He’s got a f–king younger brother shooting his f–king mouth off with s–t that is just so unnecessary. I’d like to think I was always the William." The musician said he can commiserate with the Duke of Cambridge because he has sparred with his younger brother and bandmate, Liam Gallagher. Their rift caused the famed band to eventually break up in 2009. KUWTK producer reveals which Kardashian didnt like filming – New York Post

Have you been keeping up? After a 15-year reign, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” is coming to an end — and secrets are being spilled as we get one last glimpse of the family’s every last move. Ahead of the series finale, longtime executive producer Farnaz Farjam revealed who thrived in the spotlight and who didn’t like filming the show. To no one’s surprise, Farjam told Hayu.com that Kim Kardashian loved her time in front of the camera the most, according to the Daily Mail. “I would say Kylie [Jenner] likes to film the least, but she’s actually way more present in the final season — probably because it was Season 20, and it was coming to an end,” Farjam added. “If you think about the last few family trips that we did, Kylie was missing — bu...
