Want to Reduce Your Depression Risk by Double Digits? Wake Up an Hour Earlier – SciTechDaily

Waking up just one hour earlier could reduce a person’s risk of major depression by 23%, suggests a sweeping new genetic study published on May 26, 2021, in the journal JAMA Psychiatry. The study of 840,000 people, by researchers at University of Colorado Boulder and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, represents some of the strongest evidence yet that chronotype—a person’s propensity to sleep at a certain time —influences depression risk. It’s also among the first studies to quantify just how much, or little, change is required to influence mental health. As people emerge, post-pandemic, from working and attending school remotely— a trend that has led many to shift to a later sleep schedule—the findings have important implications. “We have known for some time that th...

Cody Simpson explains romance with Miley Cyrus: ‘Just one of those phases’ – Page Six

Cody Simpson spoke candidly Sunday about his past romance with Miley Cyrus, calling the relationship, “Just one of those phases.” “Everything ended fairly amicably,” Simpson said of the pair’s August breakup during an interview on Australia’s “60 Minutes.” “It was just one of those phases, I guess. You go through [it] and you learn a lot from it,” the Australian singer, 24, continued. Cyrus, 28, was first linked to Simpson in October 2019 following her split from Kaitlynn Carter of “The Hills: New Beginnings.” The “Wrecking Ball” singer had also separated from her husband, Liam Hemsworth, in August of that year. Simpson also explained Sunday how his relationship with Cyrus began, revealing it was a seamless transition from friends to lovers. “...

New Trailers: The Tomorrow War, Eternals, Infinite, Werewolves Within, and more – The Verge

So tonight is the finale for Mare of Easttown and there are so many threads that need to be tied up that I legitimately don’t know how they’ll answer all the open questions. I have a theory of who the killer is, and I don’t think it’s the same person who fathered Erin’s baby. Will Mare ever find happiness? It seems unlikely, I’m afraid. But maybe she’ll find answers or closure. I realized that in this week’s trailer roundup that— in addition to a time-traveling theme— we have two movies that feature Sam Richardson, who played Richard Splett, arguably the best supporting character on the late great HBO show Veep. Please cast him in all the things, Hollywood, he’s hilarious. The Tomorrow War Chris Pratt is drafted into a war where he has to go into the future and fight aliens ...

Mariah Carey shows off ‘sad attempt at the Rachel hairdo’ from Friends – New York Post

Jennifer Aniston was a style inspiration for Mariah Carey. The five-time Grammy award winner revealed Aniston’s famous haircut from “Friends” encouraged her to try the bouncy look for herself.  In a Flashback Friday post she shared to Instagram, Carey wrote: “#FBF A sad attempt at the Rachel hairdo #friends.”  However, Carey’s voluminous side-swept bang and high ponytail received a stamp of approval from Aniston on Saturday. “LOVE IT,” Aniston commented under the image along with a fire emoji. While the hairstyle Carey sported in her photo is not an exact haircut Aniston had when she played Rachel Green in the second season of “Friends,” it had visual similarities. The...

Matt LeBlanc Has Become the Internet’s ‘Irish Uncle’ After ‘Friends’ Reunion Footage – Yahoo Entertainment

“Friends: The Reunion” is now streaming on HBO Max, and really, it couldn’t BE any sweeter. And while there were plenty of wonderful moments — some in the form of big reveals, some just tooth-achingly sweet — there’s one that seems to be standing out above the rest. Thanks to his penchant for sitting with his arms crossed throughout the reunion, Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey on the sitcom, has been dubbed the Internet’s uncle. The memes started swirling early on Saturday, and by Sunday morning, LeBlanc was trending as one image of him was memed over and over. “Matt LeBlanc is your uncle at a wedding buying you too many beers and getting your name mixed up with your siblings while rolling his eyes lovingly at your aunt drunkenly flailing to Dancing Queen,” one person tweeted. Matt LeBlanc...

‘Entourage’ star Adrian Grenier left Hollywood for Texas farm: ‘Austin is cosmopolitan’ – Fox News

Adrian Grenier might have lived the high life as Vincent Chase in "Entourage," but now the Hollywood actor is living a self-sufficient life in Texas. In an interview with Austin Life magazine, Grenier revealed he put Los Angeles and New York behind him so he could pursue farming. 'ENTOURAGE' CREATOR DOUG ELLIN SUGGESTS HBO'S RELUCTANCY, PC CULTURE STUNTED SHOW'S LEGACY: 'I RESENT IT' His farm is reportedly 45 minutes outside of Austin in Bastrop, a city that has a population of roughly 88,723, according to U.S. Census data. It also sits not far from the Colorado River and wildflower fields, the magazine reports.  "I bought a place in Austin five years ago and a year ago I decided to move here permanently," Grenier told Austin Life. I Wont Be Taking My Mask Off — But Not For Any Of The Reasons Youve Probably Heard – HuffPost

I’ve been telling a lot of my friends no these days. No to celebrations that signal an end to COVID-19 restrictions. No to lunch at a restaurant. No to meeting for a beer. No to dinner parties. No to hugs.  It’s been a lonely pandemic for me, and I would love to accept all their offers. But because I have sarcoidosis, a chronic inflammatory disease, and because I take powerful immunosuppressants to treat it, I’m considered high risk for the coronavirus. After the virus hit, I reluctantly followed my doctor’s advice and moved out of my family’s home and lived alone for eight long months. I just couldn’t keep my 17-year-old son permanently locked in his bedroom, but I also couldn’t risk him giving me COVID-19. Thankfully, I’m back home now. Still, I’m running on a deficit of hugs, parti...
