FDA, J&J Near Deal for Covid-19 Vaccine Production at Baltimore Plant – The Wall Street Journal

WASHINGTON—The Food and Drug Administration and vaccine maker Johnson & Johnson expect to announce within days that contamination problems at a Covid-19 vaccine plant in Baltimore are resolved, clearing the way for millions more doses to become available. Vaccine production at the plant run by contract manufacturer Emergent BioSolutions Inc. was halted after unsanitary conditions led to contamination of J&J vaccines. The facility made vaccine substance and finished vaccine doses for J&J and AstraZeneca PLC. Emergent chief executive Robert Kramer told a House committee last week that the company had produced enough of a key ingredient to yield more than 100 million doses of the J&J vaccine. The company has been taking correc...

Doja Cat stuns in fully sheer gown for iHeartRadio Music Awards – Page Six

Known for her risqué red carpet looks, Doja Cat caught eyes yet again while wearing a fully sheer gown to the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday. The “Say So” artist, who is nominated for three awards, strolled the red carpet in a full-length, see-through gown by Brandon Maxwell. The sheer green look covered — sort of — the singer’s matching green undies as she twirled and smiled for the cameras. John Cenas apology after Taiwan comment feels like a forced confession, free speech advocate says – CNBC

Free speech advocate Suzanne Nossel said Thursday she found John Cena's apology to China "troubling" after he called Taiwan a country during a promotional interview for his upcoming film, "Fast and Furious 9." "It felt like a forced confession," Nossel, the CEO of nonprofit Pen America, told CNBC's "The News with Shepard Smith." "This clear sense that he is under tremendous pressure, that what may have been barely a slip of the tongue is leading to potentially Draconian consequences for the film, for his own career, it's illustrative of this very heavy hand and pressure that the Chinese applies when somebody crosses them." Pen America aims to defends human rights and free speech around the world. Cena issued his apology Tuesday on Chinese social media. "I must say right n...

Oscar Isaac will star in Disney Plus’ Moon Knight series – The Verge

Marvel has confirmed that Oscar Isaac will star in the Disney Plus Moon Knight series, bringing the Star Wars star to another highly lucrative side of the Disney empire. Moon Knight is one of several Marvel characters who seem to be inspired by DC Comics’ Batman, and is certainly more of an obscure character to adapt, but as the company pivots into the next phase of movies and now shows, weirdness is on the menu. Moon Knight, or Marc Spector, is a mercenary possessed by an ancient Egyptian moon god named Khonshu. That possession is what gives him his superpowers but also multiple conflicting personalities, including a taxi driver, wealthy playboy, and masked vigilante. Marvel and Isaac’s announcement — “WE ARE MOONKNIGHT” — seems to directly reference the character’s complex psychol...
