Masks are no longer required at small outdoor weddings, graduation parties or other similar events or while playing some youth sports, according to a new health department order set to take effect Thursday.  The move is the latest measure from the Department of Health and Human Services and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as the state's COVID-19 trends remain bad but continue to move in a safer direction.  "The commitment by Michiganders to receive the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is allowing us to move toward a return to normal,” said department director Elizabeth Hertel. “The vaccines work. A Humboldt County resident has died with COVID-19. Eleven new cases of the virus were reported today, and one previously reported case was determined to be from another county and removed. The total number of county residents who have tested positive now stands at 3,895.   The individual who died was in their 80s. Humboldt County Public Health and emergency response staff extend their condolences to the community member’s family, friends and care providers.  In today’s weekly update of the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy,” the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) reported that Humboldt County remains in the “Orange” or Moderate tier with a positivity rate of 6.4% and adjusted case rate of 13.1 per 100,000 residents, the second highest rate of California’s 58 counties. Nearly half of older millennials already have chronic health conditions, a new survey suggests.  Some 44 percent of people born between 1981 and 1988 have already been diagnosed with at least one chronic medical condition, according to the CNBC/Harris poll.  The most common conditions among the group were migraines, depression and asthma, diabetes type 2 and high blood pressure weren't far behind.  For most conditions, older millennials had higher rates of chronic illness compare to the general public - including those older than them.  And experts warn that the mysterious fallout of 'long-covid' could mean that rates of chronic health problems are only set to soar higher in the years to come.  About 46 percent of the 831 older millennials in the poll of 4,000 people ...
