Prince Philips cause of death revealed by Queen Elizabeths physician – Fox News

Prince Philip's cause of death has been revealed. The Duke of Edinburgh, who died on April 9 at the age of 99, died of "old age," according to a death certificate obtained by The Telegraph. Sir Huw Thomas, who is the head of the royal medical household, certified Philip's death certificate. Philip's cause of death was declared as "old age" and is an accepted description for a cause of death if the patient is over 80 years old and whose health has been recognized as on a "gradual decline" after having been cared for over a long stretch of time, the outlet reports. Additionally, Sir Thomas' analysis proves there was no other disease or injury that contributed to Philip's death. This means the heart condition that caused the duke to undergo surgery in March did not contribute to his deat...

Son of Sams last victim revealed in chilling Netflix documentary – New York Post

On August 10, 1977, Son of Sam murderer David Berkowitz was taken into custody by the NYPD. New York City — on the verge of bankruptcy and reeling from a blackout and the reign of terror created by this murderous madman — breathed a sigh of relief: They got their guy. But the Son of Sam slayer — who shot and killed six people and critically wounded seven others — continued to haunt investigative reporter Maury Terry. The IBM employee-turned-scribe believed that Berkowitz, a chubby 24-year-old postal worker, did not act alone and was part of a sinister satanic network with tentacles as far-reaching as Charles Manson. Terry’s quest to stand up his theory ultimately led to an obsession that overtook his personal life. “We used to say Maury was the la...

Michael Jacksons estate scores major tax victory in years-long court battle – Fox News

Michael Jackson's estate won a major, years-long court battle after a U.S. tax court found the IRS inflated the value of his assets and image at the time of his death. The IRS had put the value of three disputed aspects of Jackson's worth at the time of his 2009 death at about $482 million. This led to an estate tax bill for his heirs that was far too high given the King of Pop's financial situation when he died. In his decision issued Monday, Judge Mark Holmes put that figure at $111 million, far closer to the estate's own estimates. The estate’s executors said it was a huge and unambiguous victory for Jackson’s children. "We’re pleased," co-executor John Branca told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "We always try to do the right thing. We tried from the beginning to follow the IRS r...

Why BMI is a flawed health standard, especially for people of color – The Washington Post

Donna Ryan, professor emerita at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, thinks BMI is here to stay, though she says doctors should change their approach to it. “BMI is part of the core measures in the electronic health record,” she wrote in an email. But, she added, doctors should expand their limited understanding of the measure to include racial and ethnic variation, and should stop using it to assess individual body fat status. “They all passed the MCATS, they can certainly learn the nuances of using BMI as a screening tool and then make a clinical diagnosis based on health assessment.”

For a healthy heart, sleeping 6 to 7 hours each night is best – Study Finds

DETROIT — It’s no secret that getting the right amount of sleep each night plays an important role in one’s mental and cognitive health. New research now shows that sleeping six to seven hours a night also reduces the risk of a heart attack or stroke. In fact, researchers from the Henry Ford Hospital say that people who manage less — or more — are more prone to cardiovascular disease. “Participants who slept less than six hours or more than seven hours had a higher chance of death due to cardiac causes,” says lead author, Dr. Kartik Gupta, a resident in the hospital’s Division of Internal Medicine, in a statement. Levels of an inflammatory marker called CRP (C-reactive protein), which is linked to heart problems, were also raised in those with longer or shorter durations of sleep. T...

Is it a quick chore that’s accomplished by slathering on a bit of everything before tumbling into bed, or is it a sacred time comprising tried-and-tested favourites that are meticulously applied? Do you trust your hands to do the job, or has the jade roller/Gua sha obsession gotten to you? There’s no one size-fits-all approach in the skincare department. Whatever the answer may be, a likely common denominator for this beauty ritual would be the conscious evaluation of a beauty product’...

Biden sets goal of fully vaccinating 160 million adults by July 4 – CBS News

Washington — President Biden set a new target of having 160 million U.S. adults fully vaccinated and 70% of adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4, ramping up efforts to reach rural areas and communities where the rate of COVID-19 vaccinations has lagged. "As we anticipated, the pace of the vaccinations is slowing, now that a majority of American adults have already gotten their first shot," Mr. Biden said in remarks at the White House. "Soon we'll have reached the adults who are most eager to get vaccinated, and at that point, this effort will shift ... Now we're going to have to bring the vaccine to people who are less eager." Mr. Biden said the administration is going to "make it easier than ever" to get a shot as the U.S. enters a "new phase" of the vaccination campaign...
