‘Pam & Tommy’: First Photos Of Lily James & Sebastian Stan As Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee In Hulu Limited Series – Deadline

We’re getting the first look at Lily James and Sebastian Stan as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in Hulu’s upcoming limited series Pam & Tommy. Written and executive produced by Rob Siegel and DV DeVincentis, the eight-episode comedic limited series tells the true story of the release of the first-ever viral video in history — the sex tape of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. As Deadline’s Justin Kroll previously reported, while the tape will play a major part in the series, the story will also focus on their relationship going back to their whirlwind romance that started with them marrying after only knowing each other for 96 hours in 1995. The leaked VHS tape turned into quite the legal dispute, with Anderson suing the video distribution company Internet Entertainment Group. U...

TikTok user Kate Haralson booted from Raya after viral callout of Matthew Perry: ‘I should’ve expected it’ – Fox News

Kate Haralson, a TikTok user who recently went viral when she called out actor Matthew Perry for matching with her when she was 19, claims she was kicked off the popular dating app for violating its privacy rules. The now-20-year-old said in an interview with Page Six that she "should have expected" the permaban was coming but that she feels "fine about it" seeing as she "never really used" the elite dating app "anymore anyways." The app's "Removal of a Member" section states, "Every member is expected to follow our simple rules of respect, trust, and privacy. There are plenty of places across the internet where an expectation of behavioral standards and respect for other users isn’t required." Earlier in the week, Haralson shared a now-deleted video to the popular social video app Ti...

Ibuprofen Doesnt Worsen Covid-19, Large New Study Finds – Gizmodo

Tablets of ibuprofen Photo: Patrick Sison (AP) New research out Friday should relieve anyone worried about having taken over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen before becoming sick with covid-19. The large study found no evidence that recent prior use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) led to more serious illness or death among hospitalized patients with covid-19. Early on in the pandemic, some doctors raised concerns that NSAIDs should be avoided for covid-19 patients. In lab rats, NSAIDs like ibuprofen are known to raise levels of the protein angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which is also used by the coronavirus to enter human cells. The fear was that NSAIDs, along with two other types of medications (ACE inhibitors and ACE2 receptor blockers), could poten...

900,000 Americans Estimated To Have Died From COVID-19, Study Says – HuffPost

Around 905,000 Americans may have died from COVID-19, according to a new study that arrived at a substantially higher number than the official government tally of 577,000 U.S. deaths.  In India, where the coronavirus is maxing out hospital beds and leaving would-be patients gasping for air, the real number of deaths may be 654,400, three times the official toll. Worldwide, COVID-19 deaths are nearing 7 million, the study says, more than double the reported number.  While public health experts agree that the actual number of people who have died of COVID-19 is higher than the numbers reported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and similar agencies in other countries, it is not clear how much higher the real toll may be. The new estimates come from the Universi...

Beyond India, a growing number of Asian countries are being ravaged by fresh coronavirus waves – CNN

"The Southeast Asia region reported over 2.7 million new cases and over 25,000 new deaths, a 19% and a 48% increase respectively compared to the previous week," the WHO said on Wednesday. "India is currently driving the vast majority of this upward trend." The rapid resurgence of the virus has placed enormous pressure on the health systems and medical supplies of these countries. Some have called for international assistance amid the deepening crisis. On Wednesday, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) warned more must be done to stop the tragedy unfolding across Asia. "We need to act now and we need to act fast to have any hope of containing this human catastrophe," Alexander Matheou, the IFRC's Asia-Pacific regional director, said in a statement. "...

Nine Inch Nails Announce September 2021 Concerts – Pitchfork

Nine Inch Nails have announced a pair of concerts, which are being billed as “the only NIN headline shows of 2021.” The shows are set for September 21 and 23 in Cleveland’s Jacobs Pavilion. Pixies are set to support Trent Reznor and co. for both shows. Check out the announcement below. Nine Inch Nails last went on tour in 2018. The band was supposed to play shows last year, but never even got the chance to announce tour dates due to the pandemic. Instead, Nine Inch Nails sold the would-be tour t-shirts online and gave proceeds to local food banks. Nine Inch Nails were inducted into Cleveland’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. The band recently collaborated with HEALTH on the track “ISN’T EVERYONE.” All products featured on Pitchfork are independently selected by our editors. Howeve...

Jinger Duggar details her decision to wear pants despite religious upbringing: ‘My convictions were changing’ – Fox News

Jinger Duggar decided to wear pants after more than two decades without them in her closet. The 27-year-old, who is one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children, wore only skirts and dresses growing up.  "My mom had always dressed us girls in skirts and dresses, a standard that was taken from Deuteronomy 22:5, which says, ‘A woman shall not wear a man’s garment,’ (ESV) and I never questioned it," wrote the mom of two, also known as Jinger Vuolo, in her new book, "The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God," which she co-wrote with her husband Jeremy Vuolo. "Modesty was a huge topic in our house, and we believed that wearing skirts instead of pants was a central part of being modest," wrote the Arkansas native, as quoted by People magazine. "But I wanted to discover for...

Allegations have only continued to come out since then, with Doctor Who crew members now among those who say the actor has a history of such behavior. The Guardian’s initial report came from the stories of 20 different women who say their experiences with Clarke include him groping and bullying them between 2004 and 2019, and in one case secretly taping an actress’ nude audition without her con...

Jimmy Kimmels PSA from doctors: “Grow the f*** up and get the vaccine” – Hot Air

“Hard to imagine a segment less likely to convince vaccine-hesitant people to get vaccinated,” tweeted writer James Surowiecki about the clip below. “‘We’re obnoxious and full of ourselves, and we’re making an argument from authority! How can you not trust us?'” It’s not great. But it’s true to the spirit of late-night political comedy. It’s strident, broadly unfunny, and doesn’t make the barest pretense of trying to influence anyone who doesn’t already agree enthusiastically. It’s in-group humor at the out-group’s expense. Watch, then read on. A lot has been written over the past four months about how to get vaccine skeptics to take the plunge. The one strategy that never, ever features is berating them. Not that Kimmel has a duty to persuade; he’d say the goal here was laughs, not va...
