Drag Race Recap: Season 13 Finale — [Spoiler] Wins – TVLine

RELATED STORIES After 16 weeks (or was it 16 months?) of fierce competition, Friday’s RuPaul’s Drag Race finale closed the book on one of the most twisted seasons in herstory. A marked improvement over last season’s all-virtual finale, though still not quite the spectacle to which fans have become accustomed, Friday’s main event pit our Top 4 — Gottmik, Kandy Muse, Rose and Symone — against one another in all-out smackdown for the crown. Heading into the long-awaited coronation, 44 percent of TVLine readers expected the night to end with Symone being named America’s Next Drag Superstar, with Gottmik (31 percent) and Rosé (22 percent) following closely behind. As for Miss Congeniality, most readers assumed that honor would be bestowed upon Olivia Lux. The night kicked o...

ABC saves us from ourselves, passes on show where Kelsey Grammer and Alec Baldwin are roommates – The A.V. Club

Photo credits: Left: Kelsey Grammer (Gabe Ginsberg/Getty Images), Right: Alec Baldwin (Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tribeca Film Festival) Spend enough time watching the ups and downs of TV pilot production, and you tend to get a pretty “So it goes” attitude to the projects that don’t actually make it. So many good casts have worked together under so many good writers and producers over the years, only to fail at the final gate, that a certain equanimity is a natural reaction. “There’ll be other shows,” you tell yourself. And it’s true, usually—unless the show in question is a pilot in which Alec Baldwin and Kelsey Grammer are 60-plus-year-old roommates attempting to shove their collective egos into a single room, a proposition that makes our skins crawl damn near off our bodies even as...

Author Michael Chabon Apologizes For ‘Enabling’ Scott Rudin: ‘I Knew Enough’ – Vulture

Photo: Rich Fury/Getty Images On Friday, writer Michael Chabon added his voice to the rising tide of those speaking out about producer Scott Rudin, a conversation initiated by an April 7 Hollywood Reporter story, and continued in a Vulture report published Thursday, in which dozens of the producer’s former interns and assistants allege bullying, threats, and physical intimidation by Rudin in the workplace. In an essay entitled “Apology of a Rudin Apologist,” published to Medium, Chabon acknowledges he knew about at least some Rudin’s behavior and apologizes for normalizing it: “I’m not proud of that. Let me state it more honestly: I’m ashamed.” “T...

‘Kavalier & Clay’ Author Michael Chabon Apologizes For Scott Rudin Collaboration: “I Knew Enough” – Deadline

Michael Chabon, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his 2000 novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and worked for years with producer Scott Rudin on an unrealized film adaptation, has written a lengthy mea culpa – titled Apology of a Rudin Apologist – in which he expresses shame and regret for “enabling Scott Rudin’s abuse.” In a nearly 1,400-word essay posted today on Medium, Chabon writes of both witnessing and receiving the producer’s abuse. “I heard stories of Scott’s tantrums and vindictiveness, but not of smashed hands and people pushed out of moving cars,” writes Chabon, whose first screenplay was optioned by Rudin in 1994. “But I knew enough. I regularly, even routinely, heard him treat his staff, from the new kid doing the coffee run to the guy just under Scott ...
