Going To See Demon Slayer Was The Perfect Post-Vaccination Celebration – Kotaku

This guy, Kyojuro Rengoku the Flame Hashira, fucking rules!Screenshot: Koyoharu Gotoge / SHUEISHA, Aniplex, ufotable Yesterday, my fully vaccinated partner and I (also fully vaccinated) decided to inaugurate our newly vaccinated life with one of the most bacchanalian things you can do in this mid-pandemic world—we went to the movies. The new Demon Slayer movie Mugen Train (its full title is so unwieldy that I refuse to name it here) is smashing box-office records in Japan and North America, and I am not ashamed to say my dollars have contributed to that. Mugen Train is the first full-length feature film for the Demon Slayer anime series. It features Tanjiro Kamado, a refreshingly compassionate teenager who, after his family is killed by a demon, leaving his sister irreparably transf...

CBS anchor so confused by Becerras insistence vaccinated people still wear masks – Fox News

CBS anchor Gayle King called herself "so confused" Tuesday by Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra as he sought to explain why vaccinated individuals should still wear masks outdoors. On "CBS This Morning," Becerra said, "The message is clear: You're vaccinated, you get to return to a more normal lifestyle. If you're not vaccinated, you're still a danger, you're still in danger as well, so get vaccinated." "I've often wondered, I'm outside, by myself, nobody's around, why am I wearing a mask?" King asked Becerra. "If you're vaccinated, do you have to wear a mask outside or you don't have to wear a mask outside?" Pixar’s next animated short expands the complex world of Soul – The Verge

From the very beginning of Pixar’s Soul, 22 — a soul who refuses to come down to Earth — is cynical. She hates the idea of inhabiting a body or finding her inspiration, instead being content with spending eternity in the “great before,” a space meant to prepare souls for their human lives. Viewers don’t really get a sense of why she feels that way — but that’s about to change in the upcoming animated short 22 vs. Earth. “I didn’t want the short to be a mirror of what she was like in the feature,” says director Kevin Nolting, who also served as lead editor on Soul. “In looking at what the story would be, the interesting thing for me is what makes her who she is in the feature. This is one of those incidents. In the beginning she was one of those innocent souls; what was the process t...
