Only 36% of Viewers Finished Zack Snyders Justice League in Its First Week – /FILM

When Zack Snyder’s Justice League debuted in March on HBO Max, it was the culmination of a years-long campaign by fans who clamored to see the original vision that director Zack Snyder had for the 2017 comic book movie. But just how many viewers beyond that fanbase stuck around until the credits rolled? According to a third party data company, not many. Like every other streaming service out there, HBO Max doesn’t release viewership numbers unless it’s to tout the great success of a buzzy title. But from what we can gather, Zack Snyder’s Justice League was a success for the WarnerMedia streamer — to an extent. Third-party aggregator Samba TV reports that 2.2 million households “watched” Zack Snyder’s Justice League i...

Santa Clara County finally releases thousands of new first-dose COVID vaccine appointments – Pacifica Tribune

After nearly a month of offering virtually no first-dose COVID-19 vaccine opportunities, Santa Clara County has released thousands of new appointments at its health clinics and mass vaccination sites. In order to get a coveted shot, you must be a resident of Santa Clara County and meet the state’s current eligibility criteria. Qualifying criteria include people over the age of 50, residents of long-term care facilities, healthcare workers, people 16 or older with high-risk health conditions or disabilities, and workers in education, emergency services, public transit, food and agriculture. Over the past month, Santa Clara County has struggled to offer many first-dose appointments due to its limited vaccine supply and its need to provide residents who received their first doses early w...

U.K. Vaccination Puts U.S. to Shame – The Wall Street Journal

The U.S. will soon achieve herd immunity against the novel coronavirus, but the U.K. will get there sooner. That’s because medical leaders across the pond put the priority on first-dose vaccination, delaying booster shots so that more people could get the initial shot. Fifty-nine percent of British adults are now vaccinated with one dose, vs. only 38% in the U.S. Far more Americans are fully vaccinated—21% have received either a booster or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot. In the U.K., where the only options are two-dose vaccines, only 8% of adults are fully immunized. In both countries, the number of daily deaths peaked in January—3,352 on Jan. 12 in the U.S. and 1,248 on Jan. 23 in the U.K. Since then, the U.S. count has declined 72%—which so...

US draws close to 100M vaccinations as baseball resumes – The Associated Press

The U.S. moved closer Thursday toward vaccinating 100 million Americans in a race against an uptick in COVID-19 cases that is fueling fears of another nationwide surge just as the major league baseball season starts and thousands of fans return to stadiums. More than 99 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and more than 56 million people — 17% of the nation’s population — have been fully vaccinated, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A total of 154 million vaccines had been administered as of Thursday. President Joe Biden’s new goal is to give 200 million vaccine doses during his first 100 days in office. But coronavirus infections are inching up again. The country is averaging 64,000 cases per day this week, up from a daily ...
