Wheel of Fortune fans call for rule change after contestant loses on minor technicality – USA TODAY

One word. That's all that cost a recent "Wheel of Fortune" contestant a win during a crossword round on the show — and some fans of the series aren't too happy about it. The technicality occurred during Wednesday's episode, according to Entertainment Weekly and Yahoo. With only two missing letters on the board, the contestant, named David, took his shot at the puzzle, under the category Catch of the Day, by saying "sole, flounder, cod and catfish." Unfortunately, this wasn't technically correct, because the word "and" wasn't on the board. Host Pat Sajak reiterated the strict rule to David before he gave his answer, telling the contestant, "Don't add anything," when he said he'd like to solve the puzzle. Another contestant, named Danielle, solved it the next turn by saying the same series ...

COVID-19 cases spike in Michigan, fueled by infections among kids – CBS News

As federal officials warn of a potential fourth wave of COVID-19 infections, Michigan has emerged as one of the most pressing hotspots, with average daily infections now five times what they were six weeks ago.  New data from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services shows this dramatic surge is due in large part to cases spiking among children and teenagers.  According to state data, since February 19, average daily new COVID-19 cases among children under 10 jumped 230%, more than any other age group. The second-highest increase in infections is in the 10 to 19 age group, which saw cases rise 227%. The trends in these groups exceed that of the state as a whole. The rise in cases among kids has been evident elsewhere across the country. In Minnesota, people under age 20...

Warner Bros. cancels ‘New Gods’ from Ava DuVernay and an Aquaman spinoff from James Wan – The Verge

Ava DuVernay’s New Gods and James Wan’s The Trench are no longer being developed at Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, and Variety. The two films, set to explore two of the more unusual parts of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), seemed like they could have been interesting diversions from the tone and style established in films like Justice League and Batman v Superman. But in the turbulent world of DC film adaptations, nothing is certain. James Wan made a pivot to superhero movies with Aquaman in 2018, bringing an action-packed, slightly more goofy energy to a cinematic universe that was sorely needing something fun. As a spin-off, The Trench was Wan returning to the horror roots he established with Saw and The Conjuring. The film was supposed to focus on t...

They still got that but there was a twist — Lexie was joined by Mark Sloan (Eric Dane). The on-again, off-again couple had gotten back together when they both died as a result of a plane crash in the Season 8 finale, and Seattle Grace Mercy West was subsequently renamed Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in their memory.
