SAG Awards Analysis: A Big Night For Netflix, Diversity, And Possible Game Changer For ‘The Trial Of The Chicago 7’ – Deadline

Netflix inarguably had a very big night at the SAG Awards, both in movies and TV categories taking half of the latter’s eight categories across three shows ( The Queen’s Gambit, Ozark, The Crown), and three of the five big movie categories including both Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom stars Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman in the lead acting slots, and for Outstanding Cast The Trial Of The Chicago 7 winning the big award of the evening which is SAG’s equivalent of the Best Picture Oscar. Last year’s win in the latter category likely started a late surge for Parasite leading to its ultimate sweep on Oscar night. Netflix has to be hoping that after some disappointing showings in recent precursor guild awards shows for WGA and PGA that this can represent a turnaround in momentum an...

Republic Teaser: Everyone Is Corrupt! – Gulte

<!-- Posted by --> Published by GulteDesk April 05, 2021 The auteur of Prasthanam and Vennela, director Deva Katta, has come up with a political drama called Republic. The film’s teaser is out. The teaser stays honest to the subject and sticks to its genre.  It starts with George Orwell’s quote on politics and how they are intertwined with people’s lives. Then the teaser begins with Sai Tej’s voice over on democracy and its falling institutions. The protagonist says that we are living in a feudal system. He also says that the judiciary and people have turned into slaves for rulers. These are certainly hard-hitting dialogues from Deva Katta. Looks like S...

The county will still enforce certain rules that are more strict than what the state allows. Most notably, bars that don't serve food -- which are being permitted to reopen outdoors only -- will only be able to operate from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a requ...

The Walking Dead Finale Recap: Season 10, Episode 22 — Heres Negan – TVLine

The Walking Dead saved the best of its Season 10 bonus episodes for last: Sunday’s emotional “Here’s Negan” focused on… well, Negan — duh — and his relationship with the wife after whom he named his infamous “vampire bat.” And not only did the hour cue up a tour-de-force performance by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, it begged us to rethink whether “You Are So Beautiful” is cheesy, gave us a glimpse into Negan’s introduction to a future Savior and sent back to Alexandria a version of the former (?) villain who is unafraid to cross paths — and perhaps even swords — with Maggie. Read on, there’s a lot to unpack… ‘THERE’S ONLY SO FAR I CAN GO TO GET OUT OF HER WAY’ | As the final episode of Season 10 began, Maggie was out for a stroll with Hershel, telling him that his grandpa used to like t...
