Iggy Azalea is distraught after YouTube fails to promote racy Sip It music video – Daily Mail

Iggy Azalea has been left reeling after her explicit music video for new single Sip It failed to make it into YouTube's top trending videos. The Australian rapper slammed the video streaming website on Twitter this week, claiming that her livelihood was being affected as an independent artist.  'So YouTube won’t recommended my video or add it to trending because of the "content in the video",' she tweeted. Banned: Iggy Azalea has been left reeling after her explicit music video for new single Sip It failed to make it into YouTube's top trending videos  'I’ve waited 48 hours and still can’t get a real answer from anyone at YouTube about why they have far more controversial videos in their trending list as we speak.' She continued: 'I’m really disappointed because I’m...

Quick Confit, Big Payoff

I’m going to take a big swing here: confit does to food sort of what a dip in a bubbling Jacuzzi does to me after a long day. It relaxes, but it also rejuvenates. Unlike a hot tub’s cauldron of chlorinated water, though, a confit involves a warm pot of fat, which transforms and delicately tenderizes its contents, whether that’s chicken thighs or a handful of spring alliums and thinly cut lemon slices. Duck legs are probably the most iconic recipients of the confit treatment—and a bistro menu staple. The process of making them involves warming duck fat—and I mean just warming it, not even really bringing it to a simmer (and definitely not to a boil)—and then submerging duck legs in that warm fat. This Goldilocks duck fat temperature usually falls...

Jon Stewart to explore The Problem With Jon Stewart on Apple this fall – The A.V. Club

Jon StewartPhoto: Kevin Winter (Getty Images) It’s been five and a half years since Jon Stewart left The Daily Show, ending a tenure that saw him ascend, in the eyes of some fans, to the level of minor god in the world of political comedy. In the intervening years, Stewart has tried his hand at a number of new vocations: Film director, recurring Late Show prophet, cattle wrangler. But we always knew that he’d likely be back some day to the comforting bosom of television from whence he sprang, and now we know when said day will be. Sort of, anyway. (It’ll be sometime this fall.) This is per Apple, which announced today that Stewart’s new series, The Problem With Jon Stewart, will arrive on streaming TVs this autumn, bringing Stewart back to a world of comedy and commentary that he and ...

Coroner’s report on Florida man who died after vaccine – The Mercury News

Associated Press MIAMI (AP) — A South Florida doctor who died about two weeks after he got Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine died in a manner that has been categorized as natural, an official with the medical examiner’s office said Wednesday. Dr. Gregory Michael died from a condition that can cause internal bleeding and there is no medical certainty that the shot caused the disorder, according to an email from Darren Caprara, director of operations for the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department. Michael’s death in January was investigated by the Florida Department of Health and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Samples from an autopsy were sent to the CDC. “Scientific and clinical expertise in vaccine safety, immunology, infectious diseases, hematology, patho...

L.A. County reports 1st known cases of coronavirus variants detected in South Africa and Brazil – KTLA Los Angeles

Two potentially more infectious variants of the coronavirus, one first identified in South Africa and the other in Brazil, have surfaced in Los Angeles County for the first time, public health officials announced Wednesday. The mutated version of the virus first identified in South Africa, known as the B.1.351 variant, was found in one case last week. Meanwhile, another variant of concern first detected in Brazil, known as the P.1 variant, was found in three cases. “Although these are the first reported cases of the South Africa and Brazil variant in L.A. County, it is likely there are additional undetected and undiagnosed cases,” Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in a virtual briefing Wednesday. That’s because “very few” of the county’s coronavirus specime...

A city wrestled down an addiction crisis. Then came COVID-19 – Associated Press

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (AP) — Larrecsa Cox steered past the used tire shop, where a young man had collapsed a few days before, the syringe he’d used to shoot heroin still clenched in his fist. She wound toward his house in the hills outside of town. The man had been revived by paramedics, and Cox leads a team with a mission of finding every overdose survivor to save them from the next one. The road narrowed, and the man’s mother stood in pink slippers in the rain to meet her. People have been dying all around her. Her nephew. Her neighbors. Then, almost, her son. “People I’ve known all my life since I was born, it takes both hands to count them,” she said. “In the last six months, they’re gone.” As the COVID-19 pandemic killed more than a half-million Americans, it also quietly inflamed ...
