Roughly one in every six U.S. adults has been fully vaccinated for the coronavirus, according to new data released Saturday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC’s vaccine tracker, which was updated Saturday afternoon, shows that 16.7 percent of the adult population has been fully vaccinated. More than 40 percent of adults aged 65 years and older are also fully vaccinated. More than 121 million doses in total have been administered, and nearly 43 million adults are fully inoculated. SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health is reporting 467 more confirmed cases of COVID-19, two more deaths, and 25,861 more vaccines administered in the state. Overall, that brings Utah to 381,254 total confirmed cases, 2,060 coronavirus-related deaths, and 1,137,046 vaccines administered since the pandemic began. There are 160 Utahns currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 57 in intensive care, the health department reported Saturday. The state is currently utilizing about 75% of its ICU capacity.
