Rupert Grint on why he criticized J.K. Rowlings transphobic comments: Silence is even louder – USA TODAY

Rupert Grint is revealing why he decided to stand up against J.K. Rowling's comments about gender and sex, which many deemed transphobic.  In June, Grint released a statement in support of the trans community after Rowling voiced her opinions in multiple online posts that conflated sex with gender and defended ideas suggesting that changing one's biological sex threatens her own gender identity.  Grint explained in an Esquire interview published Friday that he still is "hugely grateful" for the acclaimed author, though he can still disagree with her views. "I am hugely grateful (for) everything that she's done. I think that she's extremely talented, and I mean, clearly, her works are genius," he said. "But yeah, I think also you can have huge respect for someone and still disagree with th...

Brands Are Cutting Ties With David Dobrik Following Allegations Of Misconduct Against The Vlog Squad – BuzzFeed News

Francois recalled a 2017 incident when Dobrik tricked him into making out with fellow Vlog Squad member Jason Nash by telling him Nash was a woman in disguise. He told BuzzFeed News that he did not consent to the kiss, and that it felt “wrong.” After confronting Dobrik and Nash about the situation, Francois said, they offered him money to keep the video on the channel. “If they don’t know what’s wrong and they don’t understand that what they did was wrong, it makes me feel like that could still happen,” Francois said. “Or maybe it has happened to other people who are afraid of speaking up.” In his apology video last week, Dobrik said, “I’m sorry to Seth.” “I just want to make videos where everybody in it — whether you’re participating or watching — is enjoying and having a goo...

Growing evidence links COVID-19, hearing loss, researchers say – Fox News

Researchers say there is mounting evidence suggesting that hearing loss and other auditory issues are strongly associated with COVID-19 infection, according to a systematic review. At least one clinical study is ongoing, but using data from 24 concluded studies that mostly relied on self-reported questionnaires or medical records, researchers from the University of Manchester and NIHR Manchester Biomedical Researcher Center found that up to 7.6% of COVID-19 patients suffered from hearing loss, 14.8% complained of tinnitus and 7.2% reported vertigo. In their review, published in the International Journal of Audiology, researchers said the data calls for more focused studies comparing COVID-19 cases with controls, "such as patients admitted to hospital with other health conditions." HEA...

Americans wait for COVID-19 vaccines as US commits millions of doses for Mexico, Canada – Fox News

About 182 million Americans have yet to receive a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine — and despite the White House's promises to vaccinate them first, the Biden administration is already making plans to send doses to neighbors in Canada and Mexico. White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced Friday that the U.S. plans to send 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine to Mexico, and 1.5 million doses to Canada. US TO SEND MILLIONS OF DOSES OF ASTRAZENECA TO CANADA, MEXICO The Biden administration has said that once U.S. citizens are vaccinated, the next step is ensuring Canada and Mexico are able to manage the pandemic so the borders can reopen. That could mean more vaccines for Canada faster and a shorter wait for second doses. The loan deal will not affect President Bi...

Orlando Bloom says he and Katy Perry dont have enough sex – Page Six

Katy Perry might not be thrilled to hear her fiancé’s NSFW complaint about their personal lives. Orlando Bloom candidly shared in a new interview with The Guardian that he and the “Roar” songstress aren’t having “enough” sex but chalked it up to Perry having given birth in August to their daughter, Daisy Dove. “How often do you have sex?” the reporter asked the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star. “Not enough—we just had a baby, though,” Bloom said. The British actor also said the greatest loves of his life are his son Flynn, whom he shares with ex Miranda Kerr, his late dog Mighty, Daisy Dove and Perry. Mighty died over the summer after he was taken by a coyote, and the heartbroken star later honored Mighty with a tattoo of his name on his chest. ...

Claudia Conway Returns On American Idol And Kellyanne Conway Sings – HuffPost

America got the two-fer it never knew it wanted on Sunday’s “American Idol.” Claudia Conway returned for Hollywood Week after a shaky audition, and her mother, former Trump White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, chimed in with an impromptu chorus of “Girl On Fire.” The younger Conway, 16, reappeared with newly dark locks and a resolve to take judge Katy Perry’s advice to “calm the storm” around her. Conway has achieved popularity on TikTok amid a contentious relationship with her mother, who left her White House job last summer to focus on family. Her father, attorney George Conway of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, also went on hiatus from his work. (He accompanied Claudia to the audition that aired in February.) This time, the teen sang a serviceable version of “River” by Bishop ...
