Jay Leno Apologizes for Decades of Jokes About Asians: ‘In My Heart I Knew It Was Wrong’ – Variety

Late-night host and comedian Jay Leno has issued an apology for a series of jokes told over his career targeting Asian communities. The apology comes after a nearly 15-year campaign from the activist group Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA) for remarks as recent as Variety‘s 2020 report that Leno cracked about Koreans eating dog meat — a complaint that offended numerous players on the set of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” “At the time I did those jokes, I genuinely thought them to be harmless,” Leno said in a joint press release with MANAA leader Guy Aoki. “I was making fun of our enemy North Korea, and like most jokes, there was a ring of truth to them.” Leno continued, “At the time, there was a prevailing attitude that some group is always complaining about so...

Chris Evans Sparks Internet Frenzy With Rare Glimpse at His Chest Tattoos – E! NEWS

What in the ink? Chris Evans caused a bit of chaos during his virtual interview with ACE Universe's Angélique Roché alongside his brother Scott Evans on Tuesday, March 23. While fans were delighted with the brothers' chat, it was the Captain America: The Winter Soldier star's tattoos peeking out from the top of his tank top that really caught social media's attention. The actor has two tattoos next to each other on his chest: one is an eagle—very fitting for Captain America—and the other is a quote from Eckhart Tolle which reads, "When you lose touch with inner stillness, you lose touch with yourself. When you lose touch with yourself, you lose yourself in the world." Once the interview hit the internet, fans shared their shock and excitement of discovering Chris' unseen ink. "S...

Eating just one cup of leafy green vegetables every day could boost muscle function, according to new Edith Cowan University (ECU) research. The study, published today in the Journal of Nutrition, found that people who consumed a nitrate-rich diet, predominantly from vegetables, had significantly better muscle function of their lower limbs. Poor muscle function is linked to greater risk of falls and fractures and is considered a key indicator of general health and wellbeing. Researchers examined data from 3,759 Australians taking part in Melbourne’s Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute AusDiab study over a 12-year period. They found those with...

Penis Shrinkage Caused by Pollution, Scientist Claims – TMZ

If you're a guy and didn't care about pollution before today, you might wanna rethink that stance -- because your manhood (and that of any future son's) is being seriously truncated because of it ... so says a scientist. Dr. Shanna Swan -- a professor of environmental medicine and public at NYC's Mount Sinai Hospital -- made the startling claim in a new book of hers ... explaining that, based on her research, male penises are getting historically smaller due to manufacturing byproducts. The substance in question is called phthalates, which are chemicals created in the production of plastics ... which, when exposed to the human endocrine system, screws with our natural hormone process -- a dynamic tha...

Kelly Ripa spends time with dogs while Maria Menounos fills in on LIVE – CNN

On Tuesday, Ripa posted a video of her pups at home on her Instagram stories. Meanwhile, entertainment reporter Maria Menounos filled in for her on "LIVE with Kelly and Ryan." The internet of course wondered why, as if Ripa isn't allowed to take time off. Chalk it up to the viewers who love Ripa and her friend/co-host Ryan Seacrest's chemistry missing half the team. Or it could be the post-traumatic stress syndrome from 2016 when Ripa took some time off during a dispute with ABC. But it looks to be all love now on "LIVE" and Ripa and Seacrest, who have been buds for years, are super-popular with their audience. CNN has reached out to her reps for comment.

Credit: UW Medicine Institute for Protein Design Scientists at UW Medicine and the NIH have created experimental flu shots that spur broad immunity in animal trials. Researchers have developed experimental flu shots that protect animals from a wide variety of seasonal and pandemic influenza strains. The vaccine product is currently being advanced toward clinical testing. If proven safe and effective, these next-generation influenza vaccines may replace current seasonal options by providing protection against many more strains that current vaccines do not adequately cover. A study detailing how the new flu vaccines were designed and how they protect mice, ferrets, and nonhuman primates a...
