Secrets of the Snyder Cut: How the filmmaker and VFX team reimagined Justice League and created those new scenes – Yahoo Entertainment

It may have taken five years, but Zack Snyder’s original vision for Justice League is preserved for posterity in the just-released Snyder Cut, now streaming on HBO Max. But turning the 2017 version of Justice League, which was completed by Joss Whedon, into Zack Snyder’s Justice League wasn’t Snyder’s task alone. An army of special effects wizards worked alongside the director and his wife and producing partner, Deborah Snyder, in resurrecting what he describes to Yahoo Entertainment as a “weird space opera” that pits DC Comics’s Earth-bound titans — Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Superman (Henry Cavill), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) — against an invading alien force fighting in the name of the despotic Darkseid (Ray Porter). “As a filmmaker, I like to be a...

Brooke Shields needed 3 transfusions, multiple rods after breaking femur – Page Six

Brooke Shields feared she might be paralyzed after breaking her femur in January — and then faced the threat of dying from a harrowing staph infection during her recovery, according to a new interview. The “Suddenly Susan” star said that “survival mode kicked in” as soon as she fell off a balance board at a gym in New York and suffered the serious workout injury. “Sounds came out that I’ve never heard before,” she recalled to People. “I kept saying, ‘I can feel my toes’ because I was so afraid I was paralyzed.” Shields immediately underwent surgery to insert two metal rods, “one from the top of my hip down, and another across into the hip socket.” However, the broken portion of her femur soon popped out, forcing the Golden Globe-nominated star to en...

Michigan sees ‘alarming increase’ in COVID-19 hospitalizations among unvaccinated adults – MLive.com

Michigan is seeing an “alarming increase” in hospitalizations among younger adults who are less likely to be vaccinated, according to inpatient data collected by the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. In the past three weeks, the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations has more than doubled, from about 824 on March 1 compared to 1,687 reported Tuesday, March 23. Currently, 356 coronavirus patients are in ICUs, a 58% increase compared to the 225 in ICUs on March 1. The increases are being driven by younger adults: Since March 1, hospitalizations increased by 633% for adults ages 30-39 and by 800% for adults ages 40-49, the MHA says. Meanwhile, hospitalizations for those age 80 and older are up 37%. About 44% of people in that age group are fully vaccinated and more than two-third...

Local COVID cases on the rise: People are letting their guard down too soon – Times Union

County officials are urging people not to give in to COVID fatigue just yet as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations start to climb once again in the Capital Region. While the region is in the midst of a full-court press to vaccinate the public, officials have warned against relaxing precautions too soon as the area has not yet achieved herd immunity and highly transmissible variants of the virus continue to be found in New York. In Warren County, where COVID-19 numbers have been relatively small compared to more populous areas, the percentage of people testing positive for the virus has increased 31 percent over the past week, officials said Wednesday. Ginelle Jones, county health services director, said indoor gatherings where people have gotten together for meals ...

Braised Beans and Spinach with Pecorino Romano Cheese Recipe
