Just 12 people are responsible for 73% of Facebooks anti-vaxx content: study – Raw Story

<p>There's not much dispute because McConnell's claim is flat-out untrue. Historians broadly agree that the filibuster is deeply rooted in the legislative tradition of obstructing civil rights for Black people. According to a study conducted by The Washington Post, of the 30 measures derailed by the filibuster between 1917 and 1994, "exactly half addressed civil rights –– including measures to authorize federal investigation and prosecution of lynching, to ban the imposition of poll taxes and to prohibit discrimination on the basis of race in housing sales and rentals."</p><p>In fact, one of the key factors in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was the defeat of the filibuster routinely employed by segregationist senators, which is ...

Johnny Depp Denied Appeal In “Wife Beater” Libel Case – Deadline

Johnny Depp will not have his day in court (again). The actor has been denied an appeal in his high-profile libel case in the UK with The Sun publisher News Group Newspapers. Depp was looking to overturn a decision in which Judge Andrew Niccol ruled that the tabloid was fair in calling him a “wife beater”, with the verdict asserting that the accusation was “substantially true” in regard to his relationship with ex-wife Amber Heard. That ruling has now been upheld by the UK Court of Appeal. This is a significant blow for Depp. After the initial trial, he was dropped from Warner Bros’ Fantastic Beasts franchise and replaced by Mads Mikkelsen, and he is now tarred with the ‘wife beater’ brush ahead of his blockbuster defamation trial against Heard in the U.S. next year. R...

‘Six Minutes to Midnight’ Review: A Finishing School for the Nazi Elite – The New York Times

There have been an awful lot of movies made not just about World War II but about the days leading up to it. So new angles can be hard to find. How about this: a Nazi girl’s school in a seaside town in England in the 1930s? Such a place did exist: the Augusta Victoria College at Bexhill-on-Sea. Its school badge contained both a Union Jack and a swastika. It was here that daughters of the Nazi elite went for finishing. Out of this peculiar fact, Eddie Izzard, whose family hails from Bexhill, determined to forge a film; Izzard not only stars in “Six Minutes to Midnight” but is also one of the writers of the screenplay as well as an executive producer. The scenario grafts a fictional Hitchcock-redolent suspense thriller to the reality of the school’s existence. “Midnight” opens with the...

They’re hoping the state’s vaccination pace can stay out front of the new case growth, but right now that pace is flat. Here are Minnesota’s current COVID-19 statistics: 6,798 deaths (nine new) 508,541 posit...

Prince Charles wanted to issue point by point response to Harry and Meghans allegations, royal expert says – Fox News

A frustrated Prince Charles wanted to defend himself and his family with a more detailed response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claims during their sit-down with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month, according to a report.   Buckingham Palace released a short statement following the royal couple’s claims in the interview -- that included allegations of racism -- saying the family was "saddened" to hear the couple express their difficulties while living in England. "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning," the statement said. "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."  The Prince of Wales has not spoken out publicly about the ...

Scientist says human penises are shrinking due to pollution – The Jerusalem Post

Environmental scientist Dr. Shanna Swan has warned in her new book titled Count Down that human penises are shrinking as well as becoming malformed because of pollution.  The cause of the shrinkage, which Swan believes is an existential crisis humanity is facing as a result of declining fertility rates, is due to the presence of phthalates commonly found in manufactured plastics.  Phthalate esters impact human genitals by altering the hormone-producing endocrine system, and as a consequence, has led to more baby boys being born with small penises.  Swan based her research on studying phthalate syndrome in rats, whereby the fetuses' exposure to the chemical increased the likelihood of the rat being born with shrunken genitals. In humans, Swan found that male babies ex...
