Britney Spears Asked Her Dad To Resign As Her Conservator In A New Court Filing – BuzzFeed News

Britney Spears’ attorney filed a petition on Tuesday requesting that the pop star's father, Jamie Spears, be removed as her conservator. In the recent court filing, obtained by Variety and other news outlets, Spears requests that Jodi Montgomery permanently take over the role as conservator. Montgomery has been acting as Spears’ temporary conservator since Jamie Spears stepped away in September 2019 citing health reasons. Jamie Spears has acted as conservator since 2008, but the pop star’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, first filed to have him removed from the conservatorship last year. Ingham didn't immediately return BuzzFeed News' request for comment. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan has risen to 642,869 as of Thursday, including 15,984 deaths, state officials report. Thursday’s update includes a total of 5,224 new cases and 49 additional deaths, including 30 from a review of Vital Records. On Wednesday, the state reported 637,645 total cases and 15,935 deaths. It’s the highest one-day total of 2021, and the most since Dec. 11, 2020. Testing has been steady around 35,000 diagnostic tests reported per day on average, with the 7-day positive rate above 9% as of Wednesday. In the obituary posted with Becker Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, family members said 68-year-old Jeanie M. Evans died unexpectedly on Wednesday at the Stormont-Vail Hospital after having a reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine. EMS dispatch records note a patient had an allergic reaction at a vaccine clinic site — the Keystone Learning Services center in Ozawkie — just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
