SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health on Sunday is reporting 389 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, 13 deaths and 14,628 more vaccinations in the state. Nine of those 13 deaths occurred before March 1, officials said. Over the past week, Utah is averaging 422 new cases per day and a positive test rate of 3.5%. One month ago the state was averaging 647 cases per day and its positive rate was 5.2%. Sunday's numbers come as 8,316 more test results were reported, the health department said. Currently, there are 142 Utahns hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 56 in intensive care.
