Beaumont Health said Wednesday it has the highest number of COVID-19 inpatients in Michigan — with more than 500 on Tuesday — and is expanding COVID-19 units at all its hospital sites. Also, the health system released guidelines about fully vaccinated people visiting their loved ones who are hospitalized for issues other than the coronavirus. Beaumont Health said in a release that the number COVID-19 positive or suspected positive inpatients rose from 128 on Feb. 28 to more than 500 on Tuesday. It states that is more than double the number of COVID-19 positive patients being treated at any other hospital system in Michigan, according to the state health department.
