Chris Harrison, the longtime host of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," announced Saturday that he is "stepping aside" from the franchise for an undisclosed "period of time." The bombshell announcement comes in the wake of a controversial interview, in which he defended a current contestant's racist photos.  "This historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions," Harrison wrote in an announcement posted to Instagram, referencing the current lead of the show, Matt James, who is the first Black male lead. "Chappelle's Show" returned to Netflix on Friday after it was removed at Dave Chappelle's request. He shared the news in a video on Thursday and thanked fans for boycotting the show.
