Taya Valkyrie reportedly signs with WWE – Cageside Seats

Former Impact Knockouts and current AAA Reina de Reinas champion Taya Valkyrie has reportedly signed with WWE, per PWInsider. The site reports she’s expected to be announced along with the next Performance Center class and will start with NXT shortly thereafter. Valkyrie was written off Impact last month when she was revealed as the culprit in their “Who shot John E. Bravo?” angle. Rumors popped up about interest from WWE and AEW. There’s been talk she could follow husband John Morrison to WWE since early last year, and it appears it’s finally happened. A former dancer who transitioned to fitness competitions and modeling, Taya trained for her wrestling career with Lance Storm. Robert Maraj, the father of the rapper Nicki Minaj, died on Saturday after being struck in a hit and run on Long Island, the authorities said. Mr. Maraj was walking in the roadway near the intersection of Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue in Mineola, N.Y., at around 6:15 p.m. on Friday when he was hit by a northbound vehicle that left the scene, the Nassau County Police Department said in a statement. Mr. Maraj, 64, a resident of Mineola, was transported to a hospital in critical condition, the police said, before he was pronounced dead by a hospital doctor on Saturday. DPH data suggests most cases of UK COVID-19 variant in Mass. were transmitted locally – WCVB Boston

Massachusetts health officials on Sunday announced 19 new cases of a COVID-19 variant and data suggesting that most of the cases detected thus far were transmitted locally. To date, the Department of Public Health said testing at the State Public Health Laboratory has identified a total of 29 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant, which was originally identified in the United Kingdom. Of those, just four cases are associated with individuals who recently traveled. DPH officials say that suggests "that the majority of cases identified in Massachusetts are community-acquired."The variant is known to spread more easily and was associated with a surge in cases in the UK.
