Prince Harry tells late-night host James Corden about royal ordeal, toxic UK press – Fox News

Prince Harry said in an interview that aired early Friday he was "stepping back" from his duties as a British royal rather than "stepping down" -- and he said the "toxic" British media was to blame. The prince addressed the royal turmoil and other topics during an appearance on "The Late Late Show" with host James Corden. Corden and his royal guest chatted as they visited various spots around the Los Angeles area. The interview included a ride on the top deck of a tour bus and Harry rapping out the TV theme song to the 1990s show "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." FBI reportedly involved in probe of Lady Gaga dognapping – New York Post

The feds are investigating whether the kidnapping of Lady Gaga’s dogs was politically motivated since she sang at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, according to a report. The FBI is working on the case with Los Angeles police detectives, The Sun reported. “Lady Gaga is high profile of course but she sang at President Biden’s inauguration which takes this case to another level,” a source told the outlet. “The FBI wants to know exactly what motivated this incident.” An FBI spokesperson referred The Sun to the LAPD, which is leading the investigation into the dognapping, in which the singer’s dog walker was shot in the chest. The rep noted that “the bureau provides resources if/where requested to our local partners,” according to The Sun, which said it...

Illinois COVID Update Today: IL reports 1,884 new coronavirus cases, 32 deaths; United Center to host mass vaccination site: sources – WLS-TV

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois' COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan expands Phase 1B eligibility Thursday, but Chicago area health departments are holding off on the expansion until enough doses are available. As the state's vaccine supply ramps up, federal, state and local officials are expected to announce Friday that the United Center mass vaccination site will open March 10, multiple sources told ABC 7. With the Bulls and Blackhawks still playing games at the United Center, the arena itself will not be used. Instead, the parking lots will be utilized for drive-through and walk-up vaccinations. FEMA and the U.S. Department of Defense will take the lead on running the site with particular focus on vaccinating minority populations which have been relatively slow in getting doses. AstraZeneca, Sputnik vaccines face hurdles if COVID shots become annual affair – Yahoo News

By John Miller and Ludwig Burger ZURICH (Reuters) - Vaccines from AstraZeneca, Russia's Gamaleya Institute and Johnson & Johnson fight the coronavirus with another virus, leaving scientists concerned the shots may lose potency if annual inoculations become necessary to fight new variants. So-called viral vector shots - also used by several Chinese COVID-19 vaccine developers - use harmless modified viruses as vehicles, or vectors, to carry genetic information that helps the body build immunity against future infections. However, there is a risk that the body also develops immunity to the vector itself, recognising it as an intruder and trying to destroy it. Most vector-vaccine developers have opted to use an adenovirus, a harmless class of common-cold viruses."The experience with ade...

Why women should monitor blood pressure differently, according to a new study – CNN

If you're a woman, doctors may have been using the wrong metric for your blood pressure all along, according to a new study published February 15 in the journal Circulation. The research looks at the first number, the systolic blood pressure, which indicates how much pressure your blood is creating against your artery walls when the heart beats. While less than 120 millimeters per mercury may be within the normal range for men, the target systolic blood pressure for women should be less than 110 millimeters per mercury, the study found. Heart disease is the top killer of Americans, a fact worth noting during American Heart Month. These results change the way we should look at what is considered normal blood pressure for women, said senior author Dr. Susan Cheng, director of the In...

L.A. County COVID-19 hospitalizations hit three-month low while MIS-C cases climb – Los Angeles Times

COVID-19 hospitalizations in Los Angeles County are at their lowest point since Thanksgiving, authorities said Thursday. The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the county as of Wednesday was 1,886, according to state figures released Thursday. Over the last week, COVID-19 hospitalizations have been falling an average of roughly 5% a day, and on Tuesday, L.A. County tallied 1,988 COVID-19 hospitalizations — the first time the number dipped below 2,000 since Nov. 26. At the worst point in the pandemic, 8,098 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in L.A. County, a number recorded on Jan. 5. But whereas the numbers in November were increasing rapidly — COVID-19 hospitalizations rose by as much as 47% in a week in that month — they are now moving in the opposite direction. Since last...

One Medical Loses Vaccine Partnerships with SF, Alameda, San Mateo Counties – NBC Bay Area

San Mateo County and Alameda County say they've stopped allocating additional vaccines to One Medical, an SF-based national healthcare practice, the Investigative Unit confirmed with the counties Thursday. One Medical is a national healthcare provider with patients who pay $199 to become new members. On Wednesday, our team reported San Francisco County Department of Public Health (SFDPH) penalized One Medical for vaccinating ineligible patients and planning unauthorized vaccination events, like walk-ins and an Oracle Park mass vaccination launch. We received this information after asking SFDPH about reports we received of people paying the fee just to take advantage of the organization's easy-to-book vaccine appointment system. Prince Harry Opens Up About Royal Family Step Back: It Was Destroying My Mental Health – HuffPost

Prince Harry spoke to James Corden about his decision to step back from the royal family last year during a surprise appearance on “The Late Late Show” early Friday.  The Duke of Sussex joined the entertainer for a wide-ranging interview, where the two Facetimed with Meghan Markle and Harry even spilled literal tea (while riding on top of a double-decker bus in Los Angeles). Although no carpool karaoke took place, there was some rapping from the prince as he sang “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme song. When Corden brought up Prince Harry’s decision to walk away from the royal family, the duke was quick to clarify: “It was never walking away.”  “It was stepping back rather than stepping down,” Harry said. “It was a really difficult environment as I think a lot of people saw. We a...
