Golden Globes’ Lack Of Diversity And Grab Bag Of Nominations Set Back Representation Goals In Hollywood – Commentary – Deadline

Another year, another round of Golden Globes nominations that incite praise, love and, of course, uproar due to snubs. Just take a look at Twitter and you’ll find a combination of celebration and ritual draggings (some of it from yours truly) of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and its questionable choices for nominees in a year that has seen a global pandemic, a Black Lives Matter movement and a reckoning for all industries — especially Hollywood — when it comes to representation and equality for those in the margins. Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, who was part of Marilyn Manson's band between August 2008 and May 2009, has spoken about the allegations of abuse directed at the singer. Earlier this week, actress Evan Rachel Wood publicly accused Manson of abusing her during their relationship in the late 2000s, alleging that the singer “groomed” her as a teenager before he “horrifically abused’ and “brainwashed” her. Speaking about Manson on the Twitch channel Space Zebra Live, Borland says, "He’s not a great guy. And every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true. So relax about the allegations towards the women. Like when people say these women are coming after him right now… fuck off, they are speaking the truth. “I’m sorry to everyone on this podcast right now who doesn’t ...

The Weeknd Reveals the Significance of His Full-Face Bandages, Ahead of Super Bowl (EXCLUSIVE) – Yahoo Entertainment

In the weeks leading up to the Weeknd’s performance at the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show this Sunday, many people have commented on the full-face bandages he’s worn in recent photos and during his performance on the American Music Awards. Variety caught up with the Weeknd this week during a break from Super Bowl rehearsals and asked a few questions about them (his answers appear below), but first, a little backstory: Back in November of 2020, the Weeknd launched his “After Hours” album cycle with a pair of songs — the smash singles and videos “Blinding Lights” (which was Variety‘s Hitmakers Record of the Year) and “Heartless” — that began the red-jacketed, busted-nose character and his bad-night-in-Las-Vegas storyline that has continued through many of his videos, TV and awards show appeara...

Texts reveal Armie Hammer complaining about being kink shamed by the internet – Daily Mail

Armie Hammer complained about being 'kink shamed by the internet' after women came forward claiming he pressured them into indulging his perverse cannibal and rape fantasies, texts reveal. The day after an anonymous Instagram account posted screenshots of messages and stories from multiple women outing the Hollywood star, Hammer messaged a friend about his outrage, saying it was 'invasive and s****y to get kink shamed by the internet.' But he also boasted that since his secret was spilled he had received 'a lot of offers from girls who said I can eat pieces of them.' The friend, who shared the screenshots with DailyMail.com, said Hammer had been sexting her for about six weeks before he was outed, and sent her audio recordings calling her his 'perfect little w***e' and ordering her to 'gi...

COVID Threatens To Become New Forever War – TPM

The current vaccines may not be enough to bring about the end of COVID-19. In fact, the virus could be with us for years to come.  Increasingly, public health authorities and drug companies are indicating that mutating strains and fading vaccine efficiency could mean perpetual campaigns to keep the population immune, including the need to organize regular booster shots. The virus would morph from being an acute, albeit lengthy, crisis to a fact of life. Thats not to say we’d have to live with the periodic lockdowns or public health measures on the national scale that we’ve seen. But it would mean an ongoing effort to confront COVID-19. Governments would be faced with the prospect of building long-term vaccine and PPE manufacturing capabilities and of organizing r...
