Hawaii reports 2 new coronavirus-related deaths and 107 additional infections – Honolulu Star-Advertiser

Hawaii Department of Health officials today reported two new coronavirus-related deaths and 107 additional infections, bringing the state’s totals since the start of the pandemic to 416 fatalities and 26,187 cases. No further information was immediately available regarding the latest deaths. The U.S. coronavirus-related death toll was more than 454,000 today. Today’s new statewide infection cases reported by the Health Department include 79 on Oahu, 16 on Maui, seven on the Big Island and five residents diagnosed outside of Hawaii, officials said. New Jersey health officials on Thursday reported another 2,503 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 101 additional deaths one day before restrictions on indoor dining, gatherings and other venues will be eased. The seven-day average for confirmed positive tests dropped to 3,417, down 21% from a week ago and 22% from a month ago. That’s the lowest seven-day average for new cases since Nov. 14. Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that capacity limits for restaurants, gyms and other businesses will increase Friday from 25% to 35%.
