From smartphone apps to confusing websites, vaccine sign-up is anything but simple for the elderly – Salon

How do 80 year-olds who don't have adult children do it? The scale and the ambition of the COVID-19 vaccine — from its development to its clinical research to its rollout — has been an unprecedented challenge, and in many ways, achievement. It's also a real garbage fire for our parents, a development that's creating newly deputized patient navigators of millions of Americans. This is not a rant about the ineptitude of production or distribution. This is a rant about communication, and design. This is about, wherever you live or whatever your community's current vaccine plan may be, the multitude of ways in which it almost assuredly does not make a lick of sense to an old person. There is an adage that translates to "Nothing about us without us." The concept is simple: Don't make or do th...

Related: How to Watch Super Bowl 2021 Online Free Timothée Chalamet plays Edgar Scissorhands and Winona Ryder reprises her Edward Scissorhands role by playing his mother in a Super Bowl commercial from Cadillac that revisits the cult 1990 Tim Burton film. In the ad, Chalamet’s Scissorhands — the son of Ryder and Johnny Depp’s characters, the latter of whom doesn’t appear in the commercial — goes through life as a gloomy outcast, puncturing and severing things as walks around town like his father did 30 years earlier. After he finds escape through a VR driving game, Ryder gifts her son with a Cadillac Lyriq, which has a self-driving mode, thus keeping the scissored hands off the steering wheel. “Edward Scissorhands was a movie I adored growing up and the opportunity to step in...

Fauci looking ahead to more vaccines in March, April – POLITICO

“If you want to really study it to see that — the amount of time that it will take, the amount of people you would have to put into the study — by that time, we will already be in the arena of having enough, having enough vaccines to go around anyway. So from a theoretical standpoint, it would be nice to know, if you just give one dose, how long the durability lasts and what is the level of effect," Fauci said on "Meet the Press." “But what we have right now and what we must go with, is the scientific data that we’ve accumulated, and it’s really very solid. We know that with each of these, it’s either 21 days or 28 days. You can do both. You can get as many people in their first dose at the same time as adhering, within reason, to the timetable of the second dose. So, it’d be great to...

See Phoebe Bridgers’ Smashing ‘SNL’ Debut – Rolling Stone

Phoebe Bridgers made her Saturday Night Live debut with a performance highlighting a pair of tracks off her 2020 LP Punisher, Number 10 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2020 list. Bridgers opened her musical spot with “Kyoto,” with the singer and her band all wearing her now-trademark skeleton suits. Later in the show, Bridgers returned with the Punisher closer “I Know the End,” a slow burner that built to a boisterous conclusion where Bridgers repeatedly smashed her guitar over an amp. With the Covid-19 pandemic preventing Bridgers from supporting her new album on tour, the singer instead spent the year staging plenty of noteworthy virtual performances, including playing “Kyoto” from her bedroom on Late Late Show and from her bathtub on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a take on “Savior C...
