‘Buffy’ Alum Eliza Dushku Praises “Powerful, Painful” Claims By Charisma Carpenter Of Abuse By Joss Whedon – Deadline

Yet another veteran of Buffy the Vampire Slayer has publicly offered support for Charisma Carpenter after her allegations yesterday of abuse and “misconduct” by Joss Whedon on the supernatural series. Like Carpenter herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michelle Trachtenberg and Amber Benson, Eliza Dushku took to social media today to tell her co-star “I admire, respect, and love you.” In her Instagram post, the actress who played Faith on Buffy and its Angel spinoff said that she found Carpenter’s tale of Whedon’s “casually cruel” conduct to be “powerful, painful, and painted a picture we’ll never collectively never un-see or un-know” – as you can see below. CHICAGO (WLS) -- The South African variant of COVID-19 has been detected in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported Thursday the first cases of COVID variant B.1.351 has been confirmed in the state, in a Rock Island resident. The state is currently reporting 22 cases of the United Kingdom variant B 1.1.7. Doctors say it's very likely the South African variant has already been spreading around the state. "The thing of concern is that some of these variants seem to, as I said, be popping up more frequently, suggesting that there's something about them, that gives them an advantage over other versions of COVID," said Dr. Mary Hayden, Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Rush University Medical Center. Both variants seem to spread more rapidly, health officials ...

Britney Spears Hearing: Judge Overrules Father’s Objections to Joint Conservatorship Order – Variety

A probate judge on Thursday overruled Jamie Spears’ objections to an order establishing Bessemer Trust Co. as a co-conservator of daughter Britney Spears’ estate. Judge Brenda Penny appointed Bessemer as co-conservator along with Jamie Spears on Nov. 10. At the same time, Penny also denied Spears’ request to remove her father entirely from the conservatorship. Subsequently, Britney Spears’ attorney, Samuel Ingham, submitted a proposed order effectuating the co-conservatorship. Jamie Spears’ attorney objected to the language of the proposed order, saying it improperly reduced his powers over his daughter’s estate. The judge denied those objections. Addressing the court on Thursday, Ingham said the purpose of the order was to give both Jamie Spears and Bessemer “an equal divis...

Bachelor Nation Reacts to Chris Harrisons Controversial Defense of Rachael Kirkconnell – E! NEWS

Chris Harrison has found himself in a very dramatic situation. Last week, The Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell—who is competing for the affection of the first-ever Black Bachelor Matt James—came under fire after a Reddit user shared photos of the Georgia native attending a fraternity formal. The 2018 event was described by the poster as an "antebellum plantation themed ball." Rachael has also faced criticism for alleged past social media behavior. On Feb. 9, Chris appeared on Extra with Rachel Lindsay, the franchise's first Black Bachelorette, and was asked about the situation. His answer immediately raised eyebrows.  "I haven't talked to Rachael about it," he shared. "And this is, again, where we all need to have a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion.
