Bryan doubts Roman’s heart, gets weird & perfectly sets up Rumble win – Cageside Seats

Daniel Bryan and Talking Smack are perfect together. While it’ll never be the same as his epic, Tout-sponsored 2016 - 2017 run on the show with Renee Young, DB’s appearances on the rebooted show have been pretty great. His latest visit to the SmackDown post-show had it all. Bryan continued the work he started when he was a Talking Smack guest in December, and has kept up on Friday nights and in interviews since, setting himself up for “one last run” from tomorrow’s Royal Rumble to the main event of WrestleMania 37. Here he did it by contrasting his love of pro wrestling in its purest form to Universal champion Roman Reigns more business-like, mercenary approach to the squared circle. “There’s a couple things that you got wrong, and it has to do with motivation and what drives me....

All the best movies we saw at Sundance Film Festival, ranked (including Sesame Street doc Street Gang) – USA TODAY

Instead of roughing it through the cold and snow of Park City, Utah to get to various screenings at the annual Sundance Film Festival, we're couch-bound seeing the best of what independent cinema has to offer in 2021. Like the other big-time fests in Toronto, New York and elsewhere did in 2020, Sundance has gone virtual this year due to COVID but they're not skimping on on the cinematic goodness. This year's event features the world premiere of high-profile awards-season contender "Judas and the Black Messiah"; projects featuring stars like Tiffany Haddish, Constance Wu, Tessa Thompson and Nicolas Cage; a ton of documentaries featuring the glam-rock duo Sparks, Hollywood legend Rita Moreno, "Black Woodstock" and activist nuns; plus a modern, social-media-driven update of Shakespeare's "Ro...

Turns Out a Lot of People Streamed Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max – Gizmodo

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Image: Warner Bros. Recently, we reported on the Nielsen streaming numbers for the end of December, which included a big success story for Disney’s release Soul. In that post, we noted that Nielsen didn’t include HBO Max on its streaming chart numbers. But now, it’s released those numbers anyway— at least, for Wonder Woman 1984. As shared by the Hollywood Reporter, the Nielsen numbers for Wonder Woman 1984 are very, very good. They back up claims by WarnerMedia about the movie’s performance—during the first week of its release, the film racked up 2.25 billion watching minutes. Which makes it the top streaming title for the week, beating out Soul’s 1.67 billion minutes. Reportedly, this makes it the most-viewed film on the service. Nielsen doesn’t yet rel...

Microbiologist traces possible origin of AIDS epidemic to WWI soldier – New York Post

AIDS likely made the leap from chimpanzees to humans because of a starving World War I soldier who was forced to hunt the animals for food, according to a new book. The unknown “Patient Zero” was part of an invasion force of 1,600 Belgian and French troops who, along with 4,000 African aides, had traveled from Leopoldville in the Belgian Congo to a remote outpost in Cameroon, says Canadian microbiologist Jacques Pepin, who once worked as a bush doctor in central Africa in the 1980s. Pepin, a professor in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Universite de Sherbrooke in Quebec, makes the intriguing hypothesis the focus of a new edition of his famed book, “Origins of AIDS.” “Patient Zero” was likely injured after killing a subspecies o...

Royal Documentary Reportedly Banned by the Queen Is Leaked Online: 5 Key Moments – E! NEWS

2. Family Picnic: The documentary also shows the queen and her family having a picnic during a trip to a lake. Philip and Anne set up and attend the barbecue and grill sausages and large slabs of steak as Andrew asks his dad about what the spatula, or a "spoon," as he calls it, is used for. The little boy is later seen sitting and lying on his stomach on top of the roof of the family's car, shouting happily, "I climbed on the roof, Papa!" Charles dresses a salad he helped prepare and chats with his mother. He says, "I cut the lettuce." At the prince's request to taste the dressing, the queen dips her finger into the liquid, licks it, and declares it to be too "oily." "The salad is ready," the queen later tells her husband. He looks at his undercooked steak and says, "Good. This, a...
