‘SNL’: John Krasinski Can’t Escape ‘The Office’s Jim & Pam In Opening Monologue – Deadline

John Krasinski kicked off the first Saturday Night Live of 2021 attempting to move on past his reputation as The Office‘s Jim. While the role on the NBC comedy launched Krasinski into stardom, it seems to have followed him all the way to the Studio 8H stage, where he made his hosting debut. He started his opening monologue expressing gratitude about his debut – until interrupted by Alex Moffat, who called Krasinski “Jim” and asked about his relationship with “Pam” (Jenna Fischer). The references to the will-they-or-wont-they romance of The Office continued throughout the opening monologue, with other SNL cast-members asking questions about the television couple. Ego Nwodim didn’t have much of a question, but instead said “Jim, you look different.” “You need to stop it, J...

‘Saturday Night Live’ Returns To Analyze Marjorie Taylor Greene, the COVID Vaccine Rollout – Variety

From the attack on the United States Capitol to the inauguration of President Joe Biden and all of the COVID-19 developments in between (including a still-rising number of cases in California, a U.K. variant and a very slow rollout of the vaccine), so much has happened since “Saturday Night Live” last aired a new episode it seemed an increasingly impossible task for the NBC late-night sketch comedy series to respond to the news. But the Jan. 30 episode — the first one of the new year and the new political administration — did its best by kicking things off with a fake show-within-the-show cold open sketch entitled “What Still Works?” in which Kate McKinnon looked at what in American society still worked. “It’s a new year and we have a new president so some things should wor...

Nearly all had been hospitalized, and all but one had underlying health conditions. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have fancied up Prince Archie’s birth certificate — with Markle erasing her first name and both adding royal honorifics. After Archie was born in 2019, many royal watchers learned Markle’s true given name — Rachel — for the first time when his birth certificate was revealed. Now the latest copy of the document, obtained by The UK Sun, shows Markle edited the certificate about a month after Archie’s May 6, 2019, birth, nixing “Rachel Meghan.” Now she is listed as “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.” Prince Harry also added “Prince” to the document to complete his title of “His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex.” One-year-old Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is seventh in line...
