Billie Eilish Reflected On That Viral Paparazzi Pic And Her Past “Horrible” Relationship With Her Body – BuzzFeed News

The "Bad Guy" singer has explained in the past that she wears oversized clothes intentionally so people can't see and have opinions on her body. "I never want the world to know everything about me," Billie said in an interview with Calvin Klein in 2019. "I mean, that's why I wear big baggy clothes: Nobody can have an opinion, because they haven't seen what's underneath." She later reiterated her comments in an interview with Vogue Australia, explaining: "I want layers and layers and layers and I want to be mysterious. You don't know what's underneath and you don't know what's on top. I don't want to give anyone the excuse of judging."

The High-Risk Group Left Out of New York’s Vaccine Rollout – The New York Times

When New York announced new vaccine eligibility guidelines two weeks ago covering millions of additional state residents, one particularly hard-hit group remained unmentioned: the nearly 50,000 people incarcerated in the state’s prisons and jails. Now, with state supplies dwindling and no clear plan for vaccinating incarcerated people, the virus that tore through the state’s correctional facilities in the spring is roaring back behind bars. At least 5,100 people living and working in New York’s prisons have tested positive and 12 have died in recent weeks, outpacing even the early days of the pandemic. But how and when to vaccinate incarcerated people as millions around the state wait has raised legal, logistical and ethical questions that the state has so far struggled to answer. Across...

U.K. Coronavirus Variant Probed for Increased Risk to Younger People – The Wall Street Journal

LONDON—Doctors began noticing the change last month as the U.K.’s new coronavirus variant spread. In hospital critical-care units, they were seeing more younger people and women with serious cases of Covid-19, a disease that previously inflicted its worst symptoms largely on older patients and men. The shift—backed up now by statistical studies—is part of an urgent puzzle preoccupying British public-health officials as they race to understand a strain of the virus that is more transmissible and, some studies indicate, could be deadlier than earlier versions. One early hypothesis, scientists say, is that one of the virus’s genetic mutations makes it better at invading a greater number of cells inside the body, leading to serious sickness in people who with ...

Jimmy Fallon Busts In and Cleans Steve Kornacki’s Filthy Office as a Thank You From Us All – Vulture

<!-- -->In the wake of Steve Kornacki’s energetic election night analysis, Jimmy Fallon visited the MSNBC wonk to drop off a thank-you gift (a $5 Subway gift card and an airplane bottle of whiskey, to be exact), only to learn that Kornacki’s office, also in 30 Rock, is the physical manifestation of all the chaos Steve Kornacki actively battles against every day as a journalist. While Marie Kondo would have wept with joy at the amount of mess Steve has collected, our boy deserves better, which is why Fallon stopped by Monday to clean up Steve Kornacki’s filthy-ass office himself. “We’re in khaki country now,” he muses as he wanders the empty MSNBC offices. “This feel...

Hi, everyone. Chris Jordan here, and welcome to my Standing 7-Minute Workout. No floor exercises, just a chair and a wall, and that’s all you need. We’re going to do 12 exercises, 30 seconds per exercise and 5 seconds’ rest in between. Remember, check with your doctor and make sure it’s safe for you to exercise before you start exercising. Don’t exercise if you think you’re going to experience any adverse effects. And of course, during exercise, stop straight away if you have any pains and problems. Make sure you get yourself warmed up and we’ll get started. All right, here we go with our first exercise — marching/jogging in place. Let’s go. Raise those knees. Pump those arms. This is a cardio exercise. The goal here, let’s get our heart rate up. If you can, let’s go into a jog, a jog in p...

Everyday activities are more dangerous now that new Covid-19 variants are circulating, expert says – CNN

"We've seen what happens in other countries that have actually had coronavirus under relatively good control, then these variants took over and they had explosive spread of the virus, and then overwhelmed hospitals," emergency physician Dr. Leana Wen told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "If there is something more contagious among us, if we thought that going to the grocery store before was relatively safe, there's actually a higher likelihood of contracting coronavirus through those every day activities," she said. "Wearing an even better mask, reducing the number of times that we have to go out shopping, or in indoor crowded settings, all of that will be helpful," Wen added. Dr. Anthony Fauci told NBC Monday wearing two masks is likely more effective in stopping the spread of the virus. ...
