Wisconsin pharmacist accused of tampering with COVID-19 vaccine doses allegedly had false belief it would change peoples DNA – CBS News

The Wisconsin hospital employee accused of tampering with hundreds of COVID-19 vaccine doses told investigators that he believed the vaccine could harm people and change their DNA, according to a probable cause statement obtained by CBS affiliate WDJT-TV. Experts have said there is no evidence that the vaccine can change DNA.  The employee, identified in the statement as pharmacist Steven Brandenburg, is accused of intentionally removing 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine from a pharmacy refrigerator at the Aurora Medical Center and leaving them out overnight. The company said it fired the employee after he admitted to intentionally removing the vials. He was arrested last week by Grafton police.  The probable cause statement, written by a Grafton police detective, alleges Brandenburg...

“Jeopardy!” champ Ken Jennings stumbles into more controversy after defending “Bean Dad” on Twitter – Salon

Ken Jennings,  who holds the all-time record for most consecutive "Jeopardy!" games won, has stumbled from one Twitter controversy into another after coming to the defense of a man that the internet dubbed "Bean Dad."  Jennings was recently announced as the first guest host of "Jeopardy!" following longtime host Alex Trebek's death, but following that announcement in November,  insensitive tweets by Jennings resurfaced.  One tweet from 2014 read, "Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair," while another in 2015 included a joke about a terminally ill "Star Wars" fan who got to watch "The Force Awakens" before he died. Jennings had previously refused to delete these tweets, saying that they "could lead to smart replies and even advocacy. Deleting them felt like whitewashing a mista...

Shame on you: Candace Cameron Bure calls for respect after haters lambast family photo – USA TODAY

Candace Cameron Bure's social media break is officially over, but it appears she's already having some second thoughts following "so many unkind comments." The "Fuller House" star, 44, took to Facebook Saturday to call for more "respect" on social media after her family's holiday photo faced harsh criticism on Instagram. "I wished blessings upon everyone as I shared it in the spirit of a happy new year, yet so many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and criticism of what you thought would have been a better photo," Bure wrote. "Shame on you." She continued: "It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90 years old, rude is rude. Be better than that. I’m praying for humanity. Manners and respect. If you don’t like something, just move on. There are people and real feelings behind every...

The Worst Mistake Novavax Investors Can Make Right Now – Motley Fool

Novavax (NASDAQ:NVAX) was in the perfect position to develop a COVID-19 vaccine, having previously succeeded against two similar coronaviruses (SARS and MERS) in the lab. The company chose a vaccine candidate in April, and nine months later, the phase 3 trial has finally begun in the U.S. In anticipation, the stock is up 660% over that time. It's not obvious what shareholders should do now, but there is something they shouldn't do. Image source: Getty Images Is all the good news already priced in? Novavax became part of the U.S. government's Operation Warp Speed in July, and subsequently signed several deals with global vaccine manufacturers for a capacity of 2 billion doses per year, according to management. Despite several delays related to manufacturing, phase 3 data will be availa...
