State asks for patience as hospital tries to fix loophole that let public register for vaccine – NJ.com

The only problem is, some of them are not eligible for the vaccine under the state’s plan to limit who gets the shot for now to healthcare workers, first responders and nursing home staff and residents. We informed those people that they can sign up once we open the vaccine p...

On the day the coronavirus death toll in California reached 30,000, Disneyland and other locations such as Dodger Stadium were established as vaccination super sites. Newly confirmed infections are rising at a dizzying rate of more than a quarter-million a week and during the weekend a record 1,163 deaths were reported – Orange County surpassed 2,000 reported deaths. Bereft of visitors for months because of the pandemic, Disneyland will soon see thousands of guests when it serves as one of Orange County’s five planned mass vaccination sites. County officials announced the deal Monday, Jan. 11, to use the theme park in its effort to ramp up inoculations as the number of Orange County residents hospitalized with the virus hovers above 2,200. “The Disneyland Resort, the largest em...

Jeopardy! guest host Ken Jennings chokes up during Alex Trebek tribute – New York Post

“I miss Alex.” The first “Jeopardy!” episode since Alex Trebek’s death aired Monday, with Ken Jennings, introduced as the first in a series of interim guest hosts, barely able to hold back tears when speaking of the late host. “Sharing this stage with Alex Trebek was one of the greatest honors of my life,” he said Monday during the show’s opening. Even without the man who brought the wit and poise to the show for nearly 37 years, “Jeopardy!” went on business as usual Monday. Jennings, who holds the record for the longest “Jeopardy!” winning streak, opened the show with a monologue dedicated to Trebek — nearly choking up in the process. “Not many things in life are perfect, but Alex did this job pretty much perfectly for more than 36 years — and it was...
